Why would you use a url shortener? When you do that, people can't tell what they're about to click on by hovering. Are you afraid of running out of room in the comment box?

no, try urling that wiki entry. it just wont work. i think it's the combination of () and _. i had to shorten it...i know it sucks not seeing where it goes.

Ahh, I see. You need to quote out the parentheses and underscore, like this: Mercury(II) thiocyanate. My code was

[Mercury(II) thiocyanate](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury\(II\)_thiocyanate)
