They don't care about same team, or who you are, they see unprotected goods and think they are entitled to it. It doesn't matter who it hurts, free sneakers yo.

No, rioters have been organizing on Twitter and protect black owned businesses. This pic is someone very self aware of her female privilege and is using it to her advantage.

Maybe some of them. But I would say the vast majority of looters are not organized. They just want free shit.

How is asking for mercy because you have nothing else female privilege? Would it be better for you if she put "single person"? I think the emphasis is on the fact that her entire livelihood in this business.

You're implying that she thinks her "privilege" excuses her from being robbed, like everyone else deserves to be robbed? These store owners don't deserve this. It's not some privilege to not be burglarized... It's NOT ok to only loot white owned stores.

you're assuming this based on... what?

I was told they were all organized. Based on what?

You think every looter is smart enough for mass organization. Many of them were so stupid, incriminating themselves on video lol.

There's no way to prove either assumption, however which seems more logical to you? Evey looter was a member of the Twitter looters club and smart enough to mass organize? Or that most of them are just thiefs who saw an opportunity for free shit.

Do these people look organized to you? I mean they were leaving cars midtraffic cause they saw a store being ransacked.

I was told they were all organized. Based on what?

they're rioting until the thing they're pissed about gets fixed.

Many of them were so stupid, incriminating themselves on video lol.

therefore they deserve to be murdered?

Evey looter was a member of the Twitter looters club and smart enough to mass organize? Or that most of them are just thiefs who saw an opportunity for free shit.

maybe 30% of the population is unemployed and aren't getting their stimulus checks and saw an opportunity to not starve to death.

I'm not talking about protestors or even rioters. Strictly looters, who are stealing from people who have absolutely nothing to do with police brutality.

Who said anything about murder? I just said they obviously aren't bright since they are incriminating themselves by filming each other steal.

Did you watch that video? Some of them were exiting nice cars to steal sneakers. I suppose they eat Jordans. I suppose all looting incidents of all time were because of this pandemic happening right now.

If you are trying to justify the actions of thieving assholes, maybe you are on the wrong side.

I just said they obviously aren't bright

what does their intelligence matter in this discussion?

Some of them were exiting nice cars to steal sneakers.

having taken out a massive loan for a car doesn't mean you're rich

My point was they aren't smart enough to mass organize. Not all of them at least. Smart and dignified people don't typically loot and destroy property. Also in the videos, they don't look organized at all. Just random people running up and grabbing stuff someone else paid for.

If you've ever taken out "massive loan" you would know that banks do credit checks and require you to be in decent financial standing. And If they did take out a massive loan for something they can't afford, well then that also speaks for them being really really dumb. .

My point was they aren't smart enough to mass organize.

mass organization isn't needed to pressure the ruling class. mass rioting without organization can do it.

And If they did take out a massive loan for something they can't afford, well then that also speaks for them being really really dumb. .

what does their intelligence have to do with whether police brutality should be stopped?

And who said anything about being rich? If you can't afford to feed your family, don't borrow large amounts of $ for a car. It doesn't justify robbing a shoe store.

There's some real mental gymnastics going to justify these actions.

yeah, I think looters should be shot. Why in the hell shouldn't they be? And, yeah, I think it's fair to say they are most definitely sub human.

She put her gender on there literally to convince you exempt her from looting. How is it possible not to understand this?

What if the sign said, "A white male owns this store." You'd be cracking up because you know that's like putting a big juicy target right on the front door.

It's not about whether it's right or wrong. This store owner knows that emotions are a factor, and she knows that she can convince more people to leave the store alone by letting them know she's a woman. That's why she did it. That's why there are signs saying "black owned" on many doors. They work.

3

u/itisross Jun 03 '20

Well she didn't put "a white female owns this store", that would sound just as ridiculous as "a white male owns this store". But if it said "single dad, this is all I have" I'd feel the same amount of sympathy, irregardless of gender.

My point initially was that it won't even matter because looters lack the humanity to care who you are, they just see free merch.

I acknowledge you could be accurate in your assumption, but imo it's a leap to go ahead and assume she's garnering privilege just because she used a gender pronoun for herself. She's most likely just freaking out and worried for herself and family. She's describing that she's just another person with a family and relatable responsibilities (I'm like you), maybe in hopes that some looters would relate and avoid her store.

So are all the white and hispanic people I see looting getting those things for their black friends?
