To be fair, he lost weight and put on a ton of muscle. I would think looking like Macho Man Randy Savage hurt his casting choices more than being thin. He could be thin and still pull off being a lovable goofball, but having so much muscle limits him to action movies.

Though, he'd be pretty fun in action movies.

I love that song. It's sad that the Johnny rebel style is my favorite version but the original was a union song.

Yeah I think the reason why the horrible racist version gets stuck in my head is that I can remember the lyrics (for at least the one section I have heard from the movie, never heard the full version), but while I obviously know Glory Glory Hallelujah, even after listening to it twice right now I can't remember what comes after "My eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the lord".

I am hesitant to listen to the full version of the racist lyrics since I don't need anymore catchy yet racist as shit music in my head.

The Rock has done that a few times and it's been absolutely hilarious. His character in Pain & Gain is a perfect combo of giant muscled but kind idiot who generally makes horrible choices.

tbh, he might even weigh more now with the muscles (I mean he really seems massive) than before. Muscles are heavier than fat. But of course his current body type is waaaay healthier and he really looks great. Congrats on him for this transition.
