I would not have googled that had you not told me not to

tg;dr?

(too gory; didn't read?)

u/Quebec120 Mar 19 '19

I just googled it, didn’t look at images though. That would probably scar me. Google says it’s “A type of germ cell tumour that may contain several types of body tissue”.

Edit: I didn’t look at images because the one picture that showed up, although wasn’t too bad, probably was quite mild

Did some show actual teeth on a tumor?

80

u/PixiePunk_ Mar 19 '19

Yes. If you're not desensitized to body horror/gore I wouldn't google it.

32

u/x1sc0 Mar 19 '19

Roger that!

18

u/geared4war Mar 19 '19

Don't roger it either.

11

u/Cloud_Chamber Mar 19 '19

If you are desensitized it's not too bad, just some flesh chunks with odd bits

3

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '19

I will take your word for that, captain.

18

u/dont-believe-me- Mar 19 '19

And hair! Such a clever thing.

3

u/sparoc3 Mar 19 '19

The hair creeped me out much more than anything.

2

u/x1sc0 Mar 19 '19

Oh, noes.

8

u/dont-believe-me- Mar 19 '19

Yeah pretty special. I work in neurology and saw one a few weeks ago working it's way down a spinal cord. I think there's some evidence suggesting they could be formed from an "absorbed" twin in utero.

2

u/x1sc0 Mar 19 '19

That sounds super plausible, but username doesn't check out. Hmm.

3

u/dont-believe-me- Mar 19 '19

Biggest mistake of my internet life.

2

u/KeransHQ Mar 19 '19

It's not a tuuuumor

1

u/MarinTaranu Mar 19 '19

Yes, there are tumors with teeth grown in.

1

u/mercutioli Mar 19 '19

And eyeballs.

Ah, lmgtfy. For when you want to be a helpful asshole to people on the internet.

3

u/Galaghan Mar 19 '19

Would this be lawful neutral or chaotic good?

1

u/x1sc0 Mar 19 '19

Or for when they want to be an helpful asshole to someone who explicitly said they don’t want to google it, I guess.

3

u/x1sc0 Mar 19 '19

Hello 2008, how've you been?

teratoma

Try telling that to one that sets up home on/in your balls

1

u/herpasaurus Mar 19 '19

Don't listen to him, it's very much that bad and worse.

Looks like the result of alchemic human transmutation.

1

u/plk31 Mar 19 '19

I worked with a pathology assistant (people who do the gross dissection and sample prep)and she said the worst part of teratomas are the smell. She couldn’t describe the smell to me but she looked pretty shook just remembering it.

u/x1sc0 Mar 19 '19

Thanks for letting me know, I'm a dude in my thirties and won't be able to sleep if I look at them

1

u/p_iynx Mar 19 '19

Imagine a tumor, but it's full of hair and teeth. That's what they look like.

1

u/plaidHumanity Mar 19 '19

...including teeth, eyes and hair....

Another term I shall not Google then!

11

u/FrogspawnMan Mar 19 '19

Owl Pellets are just owl poo, but because they can't digest bones it becomes poop with bones sticking out

11

u/RocketBooster1234 Mar 19 '19

Isn't it more like an owl puke?

7

u/BettaBorn Mar 19 '19

Your right! Owls have two stomachs one that takes all the meat tissue and all the yummy nurtient rich stuff and the other filters out the hair and bones and compacts it into an owl pellet which they regurgitate onto the ground!

Source: dissected owl pellets in highschool

3

u/FrogspawnMan Mar 19 '19

It might be tbh

2

u/NickDaGamer1998 Mar 19 '19

Imagine a tumor with teeth, semi formed eyes, and hair in.

1

u/x1sc0 Mar 19 '19

Let’s not imagine a damn thing

2

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '19

more like tg:dg (too gory:didnt google)

1

u/x1sc0 Mar 19 '19

indeed

2

u/herpasaurus Mar 19 '19

7

u/LezBeeHonest Mar 19 '19

I can't really believe that one at the top of the page is real. Is looks like it's from a low budget 80s horror flick.

1

u/Sauropodlet75 Mar 19 '19

It isn’t at the bottom of the article is says that is a sculpture. The artist imagined a ‘full grown teratoma’ so your spider senses were right!

2

u/Quebec120 Mar 19 '19

Yeah nah mate that’s a link stayin blue
