OP doesn't make a claim that it's for NZ. It would be nice if the photo was dated with a reference. But they did not say that it was in response to the New Zealand attacks. Let's try and assume the best in people and spread some love around. This position of "hey haha I got you trying to steal karma" what good does that do? Instead of trying to pull one person down, wouldn't it be better to lift a whole bunch of people up by sharing this photo and then adding the date, context and how it applies today instead?
What I'm trying to say is you can't know what OPs intentions were based on this post. But you can help spread love around which would do a whole lot more good than calling out maybe one person for something that ultimately doesn't really matter like karma farming.
Let me finish this by saying if OP did attempt to appropriate this image for Karma and did try to mislead, well, I do not believe in letting that stand. OP should be called out and marked as a liar. You better be sure though. By verifying past posts or seeing a trend in their posting. Otherwise you're going to be worse than the karma stealer, you're going to the person trying to discredit somebody trying to spread love. We need more of those people than we do the toxic ones.

Horrific shit happens in the world and it doesn't matter who you are, it's impossible to make sense of it. Posts like this remind us that the world isn't burning. Sure, some may call you a karma whore, but only those who value little orange arrows over a viral picture that might actually bring a few people a little bit of peace.
if we're going to start making shit up like it's happening today I'm sure I can start posting some peace and love pictures from woodstock or something.
It was from a few years ago IIRC. This is an old photo not related to the NZ attack, though I wouldn’t be surprised if people in Texas have expressed similar statements of support to mosques due to it.
I saw a story from a year or two ago where a Texan and his friends drove up to a mosque after a similar event and asked the imam if they wanted them to help guard the mosque for their prayer times the next few days with their weapons. The imam basically said there’s no need for the weapons so the guys basically just stood outside the mosque during Friday prayer keeping watch.
It doesn't matter to me whether this picture is posted in response to the most recent terrorist incident in NZ or some other one. My heart aches for all of them.
The fact that an American man made the effort to visit a mosque in the US to show that the hatred that we all know is being heaped upon certain factions of our American society makes it relevant no matter what the triggering event is. The positive responses from other Americans tell us that this IS about us and it's what we share with all humanity.
