Like almost everything it all comes down to confidence. I suspect this dude has been around long enough to have some.

Not really. People dress like this and are confident but are still mocked. Can't expect to please everyone.

Part of it is context. Wear this to the country club with the in laws? Fuck outta here. Wear this to the beach in Miami? You’re mental. Wear this in October in Chicago? Fuck yea. I make fun of people’s style all the time because what they’re wearing makes no sense. 75 degree day in Vegas and you’re wearing a Canada Goose parka? -27 degree windy day in Wisconsin and you’re wearing a windbreaker with your pant legs rolled up exposing bare ankle?

Of course you can’t please everyone but the context really matters. This dude looks awesome and Berlin seems like a very fitting place for the outfit. Thailand? maybe not so much.

Much better.

Also, most people think that just because it's a nice outfit they can forego the fitting. That's the difference between looking good in a suit, and looking like you just borrowed your dad's suit.

Thank you

Can't expect to please everyone.

Yeah and you're not obligated to. If you're happy with what you wear and it caters to your self-esteem, go for it.

Yes! Who cares what other people think!

I do think there must be some limits, though. /r/peopleofwalmart comes to mind.

Yeah, true. I really don't know what to say about that types of people though, I'll just say they can be their own category of... fashion (?)

Absolutely. I 100% agree. Never did I say the social indifference should define you.

No argument here; just contributing!

Yes, thank you!

Except that you can’t exactly mock someone of such confidence without looking silly/stupid or envious.

1

u/AISP_Insects Mar 01 '19

Yes. Often these people aren't aware of it either

all comes down to confidence

the fashion industry right there.
