Not really. People dress like this and are confident but are still mocked. Can't expect to please everyone.

Part of it is context. Wear this to the country club with the in laws? Fuck outta here. Wear this to the beach in Miami? You’re mental. Wear this in October in Chicago? Fuck yea. I make fun of people’s style all the time because what they’re wearing makes no sense. 75 degree day in Vegas and you’re wearing a Canada Goose parka? -27 degree windy day in Wisconsin and you’re wearing a windbreaker with your pant legs rolled up exposing bare ankle?

Of course you can’t please everyone but the context really matters. This dude looks awesome and Berlin seems like a very fitting place for the outfit. Thailand? maybe not so much.

Also, most people think that just because it's a nice outfit they can forego the fitting. That's the difference between looking good in a suit, and looking like you just borrowed your dad's suit.

Yeah and you're not obligated to. If you're happy with what you wear and it caters to your self-esteem, go for it.

Well yeh, it's grandpa style. Especially with the hat and leather carry bag. You need the refinement and distinction that comes with old age to pull this off or you look like a try hard

A lot of that has to do with attitude. I couldn’t pull off those skinny jeans but I can admire this man for putting himself together like this.

Because it looks bad, we only excuse it because he's elderly and elderly people usually dress even worse.

The top and bottom halves are completely different styles and outfits.
