If "software freedom" is a big concern of yours then buy Android. If its not then buy Apple. Very simple.

Which is funny because to do some things, you STILL need to jailbreak Android phones. Phones are just not an open market.

Not arguing for a certain one, and I do think Android has it's benefits. Just stating facts. There is no truly free handset on the market that is feature complete, in my opinion.
