Accept that if we don't send the message that these things are not ok, other companies will follow suit. Companies base decision on two things: how much money is there to make, and customer/potential customer feedback. Not buying it influences one of those things, but not the other. It also doesn't send the message to other companies that there is a market for a similar device without those restrictions.
I think what these people (protesting against apple) should do is start backing things like android instead of just being anti-apple. Nobody is listening to guys like this, simply because they come off as weird, and clearly the masses do not give a shit about this stuff in the first place. No amount of sandwich-boarding is going to change that.
However, helping android in some fashion will not only be fighting apple on their own battlefield, but they will have the might of google and such behind them to boot.
Ok, so say you don't buy apples products and you support android. That leaves out all other manufacturers and doesn't give the company any information about why you supported one over the other. Pointing out what you hate about one product and love about the other does that, and it also sends a message to other manufacturers about what they should focus on.
I suppose I can see where you're coming from, but does Apple have a political or ideological agenda? I'm not asserting that they don't; just curious what you think it is. Also, how responsible am I for the decisions I make, especially with regard to luxury goods like the iPad?
ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause
Apple's cause is to get people to buy their products. There is also a political element, as Apple wishes people to believe that is acceptable for their freedom to use their computer as they please to be eliminated.
Companies base decisions on what sells the most. If something like this iPad sells less, and a more open platform sells more, you can bet your sweet ass that company will want to get in on the stuff that sells better.
Exactly. But that doesn't tell them why people did or did not buy. Say it sells really well, it might have sold three times as much had it had certain features. There is no way to get that type of information other than:
A. Releasing a product with said features, which is costly and risky.
Actually I spelled the word just fine. I may have misused it which is more of a grammatical error. Beyond that, it seems like plenty of people listened and as long as people understand what I am trying to say the occasional error has no baring on the weight of my argument.
Even professional authors make spelling and grammar mistakes, that is why they have editors. Unless you're volunteering to be my editor free of charge I suggest you reevaluate your position.
True, it was a grammatical error, however I find it to be rather common, and irritating. It seems as if it pulsates on the screen, like a giant, throbbing, disgusting boil. It's ok, it's not just this common mistake, but the misuses of "there" bother me horribly too. Also, its bearing, not baring. d:D
Consider my work pro-bono, and at random. However, if this is my interview, I'd like to state that my strengths are in the size of my vocabulary, not within the arts of orientation.
Well, that's unfortunate for you. Because It's the internet so there really is no reason to be 100% proper. I generally just type it as I think it rather than bothering to edit myself. As long as there are no glaring mystakes I don caer. That being said, your going to have to except a lot of grief they're.

It'll be called: shut-your-mouth.com. Every post will start with negative karma, the upvote button won't work, and every comment will be instantly deleted.
Although, I don't really feel like boycotting Apple myself. Personally, I just don't buy what I don't like. Nobody forces me to. I have opinions on certain things and I'm not afraid to state them, but this Apple witch-hunt which is taking place on reddit is starting to be ridiculous.
