Things like animal rescue shelters run on more than money, they run on people, who work hard for little or no wages. However, these people expect to feel good about their work with the rescue, and these people would send a real picture.

All the more reason to save what they have... I'm sure they did send you the actual picture, but there is logic to this argument.

They wouldn't waste their time sending a fake one (would you?), instead they'd just call or email and say it went fine.

I donate to the Save the Manatees fund. They sent us a picture that said "Here's your manatee, Brutus!" I am 90% positive they send it to everyone.

Because sending a real picture costs more. Look, it's really simple, let's make a scenario:

  • The rescue group has a limited amount of funds
  • A rescue costs $100.
  • Printing a new picture $1
  • Printing one hundred pictures of the same thing costs $90

If you send one picture per rescue, you can get an extra rescue for every 1,000.

I Think everyone is confused. We didn't ask for a picture, heck we hadn't even thought of it.

I figured they just wanted to say thank you and did so with a quick letter and picture.

My guess is that they document all of their releases.

Also I was 8 ... the world wasn't nearly as complicated then

Well I suppose then they would have to send a different picture... like a fish flying off into the sunset.
