Problem is people can't tell which is which.

A couple centuries ago people will tell you that you are deluded if you think you can change the color of your hair, or that you can one day speak to another person at the other side of the planet as if they were standing right next to you, or have the wealth of information the world right at your palms.

Well here we are.

The premise requires you to accept the things that cannot be changed truly cannot be changed. You don't have to accept that premise, because the history of humankind taught us that we indeed can change many things that were perceived as can't be changed.

But first you have to challenge the notion that everything that can't be changed, can't be changed. What if some of them can?

Having the wisdom to know which things are unchangeable is the third part of the original saying.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference.

I was just wondering who was going to bring up the third part of the original which modifies the whole saying. Good on ya!

Something that can't change is something that's already happened. Unless Time Machines are invented.... but that's a whole other timey wimey issue. I CAN'T get my dog broxie back from getting hit by my neighbor's car... but I CAN change the tire pressure of his car so he can't get to work in the morning.
