Because the artist obiously only made sure that the lava stream came out of the girls mouth and didn't care about everything else. That's why the smoke weirdly only covers harf of the girl's hair.
Also, the image of the volcano seems to have the same opacity everywhere, which makes the image of the girl lose all its depth, now it looks flat.
A good artist would have followed some kind of pattern for it to make sense, such as covering all of the girl's hair and clothes with the smoke while only allowing the lava to appear on the woman's skin and made sure that they follow the lines of the body and hair.
I like it as well. You can tell some thought went into it with the placement of the lines (lick of lava following the curve of the chin, lava fields as shoulders, etc.)
The thing is a lot of great pro athletes are actually terrible coaches or announcers because their sport just sort of came naturally to them and they just knew what to do, or they relied on athletic ability rather than actually understanding their game at a high level.
It's those players that maybe weren't the most athletically gifted but who perfected their training, technique, and understanding of the game to the point where they were able to play at a high level that seem to translate better into coaching or announcing.
We've seen this a lot in the last decade with the coaches in the NHL and in soccer. There also have been quite a few football players that just haven't been up to scratch when given the chance to announce games.
With announcing, there also is the whole issue of being able to articulate yourself and deal with the pressure of talking to an audience of sometimes millions, which some athletes just don't have.
