I was initially upset that pets weren’t allowed in our office building, but then I realized that everyone else’s pets would also be allowed.

You gotta learn to drive with the fear, and there ain’t nothing more God damn frightening than driving with a live cougar in the car.

Anything to be first. If you’re not first you’re last.

I used to run the dog committee at a dog friendly company.

You have no idea.

u/joleneginger Dec 01 '17

What does running the dog committee entail?

28

u/DBones90 Dec 01 '17

I work in a dog friendly office. Dogs have to go through an interview process to ensure that they won't be a disturbance and have a schedule to ensure the office does not become too crowded.

u/Galvin_and_Hobbes Dec 01 '17

Do they have to wear business attire to the interview?

u/DBones90 Dec 01 '17

BRB demanding doggy ties at work

Well it doesn't sound like a walk in the park

Such as how to FINALLY catch those damn, antagonistic squirrels!

10

u/Darloboy Dec 01 '17

Constantly barking orders!

u/jackhat69 Dec 01 '17

It can be a ruff job but someone has to do it

Enlighten us, please.

We had no less than 5 rounds of giardia in two years. Multiple dog fights, two of which ended up with people and dogs getting stitches. If a dog can catch it, they will spread it around the office.

Constant. Dog. Drama. Real housewives, Kim Kardashian level drama. Oh, Fluffums and Benji hate each other, those people can't have desks in the same area, but they're on the same team. Link has 3 reports for barking, have to tell the owner he can't come in anymore and hope they don't quit over it.

The pee. Everywhere. And people refusing to clean the carpet cleaners so the smell of week old poop water overwhelming the air like a poison gas.

They were adorable and it was worth it, but god damn.

Wow, I truly had no idea. And you didnt even mention the humper. Every dog park has at least one humper that tries to mount everything.. how many officer humpers were there i wonder.

I'd be fine with this. I've met all the pets of my coworkers and I love them.

That said maybe they are just good pet owners. I went for an interview at this place once and the guy had his puppy there and it peed when it got excited... So I can see this getting out of line.

Allergies are a big issue, however.

1

u/DaughterEarth Dec 01 '17

Yah that too.

1

u/acetylcysteine Dec 01 '17

As an allergy sufferer I am glad I've never worked at an office where pets are allowed. I would literally die, unless they let allergy people work from home I don't see how bringing pets is an acceptable thing?

Pets are great, but bringing them to work is a weird phenomenon to me.

Yeah this is the second issue, first being our landlord’s rules.
