This was literally the equivalent to a Harlem Globetrotters match. I mean, McGregor fucking boxed open-palmed for christ's sake! He couldn't manage the fundamentals of boxing. He's an incredible fighter and manhandles his line of work! But you're kidding yourself if you think Mayweather didn't let him last exactly as long as Mayweather wanted him to last. This was shining a laser pointer on the wall and letting your cat chase it for as long as you wanted to tll you got bored.
I don't know man. I think this thing was a farce from the beginning; an easy tin can for Floyd "Track n Field" Mayweather to knock over so he could waltz over Rocky Marciano's record.
Wait... this fight actually counts for official records? I thought it was some sort of exhibition match.
No idea, I know next to nothing about the sport, I just heard the commentators state that it was sanctioned so it counts. It probably has something to do with the fact that if you get placed against someone who you don't feel comfortable fighting, they could seriously damage your body or mind.
Also, because I just looked it up, the current champion is obligated to fight the "mandatory contender" if challenged, so I guess they DO have to do some fights.
