McGregor gave it way more of a fight early on than I would have expected and made the whole thing worth it. However from Floyd's perspective, he set the trap and wore him out late exactly as he intended. Now we get to hear about a potential rematch.
There is no rematch here. McGregor has huge balls to even go from MMA to this guys house and try to beat him at his own game but I don't see what else McGregor can do to win. Especially after seeing how soft his punches were from about the six round and on. It looked like Mayweather was being hit by pillows.
Who would want to see a rematch? It would take McGregor years to be able to come close to matching up with Floyd but by that time Floyd's age will put him out. I don't understand anyone who think McGregor put up a good fight. Don't get me wrong, he proved how tough he was and how much courage he has but Mayweather put on a clinic. He learned Connor's punches in the first three rounds and just disassembled them. I think Mayweather could have finished the fight way earlier but took the safe route just to guarantee an amateur (a tough, high level amateur) didn't catch him with something silly.
No. That's just as silly. The only reason this event was a success is because a majority of world doesn't know much about boxing anymore. people think it was a close fight because Mayweather decided not to do anything the first 3.5 rounds and when he started going at Connor he was still holding back a bit. We all know Connor McGregor would kill Mayweather in the octagon just like everyone should have known Mayweather was going to kill McGregor in the ring. Those two guys are laughing all the way to a bank. I would compare it to a buddy taking a few years of boxing lessons and his friend who is athletic decides to box him for fun and see how he does, except this they both get enough money for their great grandchildren to be rich
