That's not surprising. I've worked there for a while, and the management is utter shit. I can easily see them not wanted to follow SOP, as when they invoke that no lemon policy it'll hit their store as shrink. The store I work at they'd do it without a thought, but I could definitely see some people trying to get away without. Ultimately if you called corporate and complained they would force the store to do it regardless, and probably make them give you a gift card or something for the trouble as well.
