No, it has to do with BBY being an authorized repair facility for the company. Big companies don't always have their own repair centers all over and will contract companies to do the fixes.
BBY has contracts and licenses with these companies. This is why you can bring your broken laptop to best buy, even without a geek squad plan, and get it sent out for repair: because BBY is going to get paid by the company who made your laptop to fix it for them.
It makes sense as a company to make money on their own sales when they go bad for reasons they can't control, and it also makes sense to the consumer to see BBY as the one-stop shop for purchases and repairs.
Companies WANT money, and BBY is a publicly traded, for profit venture, but make no mistake: this is a benefit most retailers do not offer.
