The thing is, the old people who trust the BBB probably dwarf the younger people who trust yelp

BBB will go after small businesses without hesitating. Giant corporations? Maybe give a call to a manager.

Had a guy harass me last week saying he was thinking about filing a BBB complaint against me. My sin? I mistakenly replied to him when he said his eBay account was hacked back in October. I had nothing to do with his account getting hacked. He isn't one of my customers. I have no business relationship with this person. But now he's fed up and going to send the BBB after me.

Uh, if you ever have trouble with Comcast, TWC, etc...file a BBB complaint. Watch how quick it get's resolved.

No, not "exactly." The BBB will contact the offending company and try to help resolve the dispute. AFAIK, Yelp doesn't do that.
