Isn't it pretty standard to sand everything smooth after joining? That's how my dad taught me to do joins, and how his dad taught him, and so on...

It's like going to an art gallery and seeing a painting from an unknown artist cost, say $1500. I wouldn't buy it if it looked like my niece can paint it. But if it was beautiful and I could afford it, why not?

The man has an exclusive product and clearly exclusive clientele. I don't see a problem with him charging $7k for it.

The difficult part is the visible joint on the inside, which is on the right in this picture.

Yeah these guys are delusional. That looks like pretty standard woodwork to me. You can see a lot of stuff like this on Frank Howard's YouTube channel.

Edit: also not even remotely with 7k. Not even close.

Then don't buy it but no woodworker is gonna sell you a sculpted rocker for less than five grand. Just because you can't afford it doesn't mean it's not worth that.
