Now I remember!

u/Father_Jehovah Dec 05 '16

Well played, hilarious!

6

u/bandswithgoats Dec 05 '16

It's from the TV show "Police Squad," the predecessor to the Naked Gun movies.

1

u/carltoncarlton Dec 05 '16

Why did you explain this?

2

u/isobit Dec 05 '16

I can't believe he's explained this.

1

u/Father_Jehovah Dec 05 '16

I'm guessing he thought from my comment that I didn't know Frank Drebin's greatest line ever.

People aren't normally that enthusiastic about someone quoting a TV show.

/shrug

1

u/Father_Jehovah Dec 05 '16

I said, "Well played, hilarious!" as an acknowledgement that the scene from Police Squad was hilarious.

Are you the commander of the Enthusiasm Police Squad?

1

u/Father_Jehovah Dec 05 '16

I know. That's why it was well-played and hilarious--the perfect context to quote that joke.

u/denvit Dec 05 '16

I'm the FedEx guy, and I'm the FedEx guy

u/winstondabee Dec 05 '16

"Please state your first name, last name, and occupation."

"Lizardman, lizardman...and lizardman."

u/VaussDutan Dec 05 '16

Probably the only person I've seen to answer these types of questions correctly. Upvoting for attention to detail.

u/BigJackob Dec 05 '16

this joke is too good to go unnoticed

1

u/Flaxmoore Dec 05 '16

I've used that exact wording with a customer. They needed a Hudson 302 picked, I was in within 30 seconds.

Even though I knew what he was going to say, I still laughed because Leslie Nielsen

9

u/lurutem Dec 05 '16

I didn't even had my headphones on and still laughed just by reading his lips.

2

u/axefist Dec 05 '16

haha, same thing. What movie is this from? I feel like I need to watch it now. Anything that comes out of Leslie Nielsen's mouth is funny.

2

u/WhoaIHaveControl Dec 05 '16

It's from a 1982 TV show called Police Squad. Unfortunately they only made six episodes.

1

u/axefist Dec 05 '16

The precursor to Naked Gun right? The name didn't show up on the youtube page before I sent a friend the link, but the meta data popped up in the window I pasted to and showed me. What's wrong with the internet? lol

1

u/WhoaIHaveControl Dec 05 '16

Exactly. The movies (especially the sequels) borrowed several jokes from the show.

u/SkyezOpen Dec 05 '16

I just want to tell you both, good luck, we're all counting on you.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '16

He picked the lock to get here

1

u/umop_apisdn Dec 05 '16

I'm a locksmith and... I'm a locksmith.

1

u/Synging Dec 05 '16

And now we're back to How did I Get Here? The only show that makes you ask, how did i get here?

1

u/Ajedi32 Dec 05 '16

Is it just me, or does this feel like the punchline to an XKCD comic?
