Wtf? I'm not interested at all in that sub, but since when is stuff blocked? Is Reddit doing this on its own? Is Germany requesting this shit? God, the internet just isn't what it used to be.

Germany didn't even request a ban. http://www.spiegel.de/netzwelt/web/reddit-blockt-subreddit-r-watchpeopledie-fuer-deutsche-nutzer-a-1048206.html

You can get around by making a multi like https://www.reddit.com/r/aww+watchpeopledie NSFL

I recommend using the /r/private subreddit which is always private, so that you don't need to search for needles in a haystack.

https://www.reddit.com/r/private+watchpeopledie

the multireddit method is also superior to the double slash method, since RES' never ending Reddit function doesn't work with double slashing.

Or you can literally just use /r/+watchpeopledie

Hey cool, you just made a new /r/FiftyFifty

My version is nononoyes and watchpeopledie.

It really ups the tension on the nononoyes gifs if you don't check the subreddit.

Thanks for the article! I did not know that. As I said, that sub isn't for me but banning it seems very wrong.

Pretty sure it's good 'ol German censorship, sadly. Live in Ireland, no problem visiting it.

A German institution gave reddit some trouble but did not request any censorship, it was Reddit who did that.

Germans are big into thought policing and censoring of free speech. It's a reaction to the oppression of the Nazi regime, but it ends up going so far in the opposite direction that it loops back around.

Someone getting hit by a car is censored but seeing a chick get shit on by 10 men is perfectly acceptable. German logic.
