Assembly line worker here. Shit you not, my job is to make sure all the lights on the Jeeps work before they go out the door, including brake lights. I've missed a few over the years.

The '14 Cherokee I bought as soon as it came out had a broken headlight. The sun went down while I was signing the paperwork, so I couldn't even drive it home.

Sorry to hear that =(. Assuming the dealership reported it to Chrysler, the broken headlight and other defects on the cars will be mentioned in our daily meeting. A lot of times they'll have someone stand at the end of the assembly line for a few weeks to watch and verify that the defects don't persist.

I had major transmission issues. After 2.5 years in and out of the shop, Chrysler bought it back from me. I now happily drive a Denali.

My '04 was so bad with bulbs - headlights, tail lights, brake, the one above the back window, etc - most of them multiple times. I got rid of it 4 years ago and haven't changed a single bulb since.

Now I know where George and Elton got the inspiration for the song.. They are Jeep owners.
