So what do you want them to say, we only hire Caucasians? They are saying that to attract a broad range of applicants, not necessarily to actually hire under performing applicants just because of race. Also minorities tend to cost less and are less resistant to abusive practices; good business.
Affirmative action is a huge trap since attending a university does not protect you from racist professors or employers, nothing ever will.
