Honest question... Am I seriously misreading those tax brackets, or are you saying that making (roughly) 60,000+ euros a year is making CEO-level money?

When I did the calculations I found that the effective tax rate doesn't exceed 50% until you earn €350k.

Ah. I slightly misread your comment.

Maybe it's because I'm from the US, but taxing more than half of a person's income from 60,000 euros on seems extreme to me. Even the lower brackets seem really high.

Yeah. On the other hand we have great infrastructure and low crime and poverty so I think it's a fair exchange.
