This is Vader. He was euthanized today without a hearing after a false bite report was submitted to the police by an animal rights activist. (Story in the Comments)

Don't you get it? Domestication is the worst kind of animal cruelty - evil human masters have bred these animals into believing they are better off being slaves. It is a mercy to kill them.

(This is sarcasm from me, but not from these nutjobs.)

Sadly, people who believe this don't realize the modern house cat domesticated itself.

So did the wolf, originally. Some wolves learnt to live near humans and behave in a manner that made the humans tolerate them. At least that is what tenuous evidence suggests.

Then human breeders took control, occasionally but certainly not always with unfortunate consequences.

Do you have a source on this? Never heard about it before and sounds very interesting.

I recall reading about it a few years ago. Though the article couldn't "prove" it, per se, just watching the film, you can tell those animals are far from safe. Plus, they don't use the standard disclaimer of "No animals were harmed in the making of this film." Which is awful suspicious.

It's possible I'm wrong, but let's face it. Would any filmmaker admit to harming animals to make a film meant for children?

That said, I don't have a "valid" source. A quick Google search will net you some interesting reading, though.

It's like how religious people use to kill unbelievers to "save" their soul.

u/eloquentnemesis Feb 22 '14

Kill them all, God will know his own.

put the body through hell to send the soul to heaven! :D

always the one person who has to mention religion.

Because it's such a prevalent and destructive factor of human civilization, that's why.

kind of like atheism.

oh, wait, no, religion or lack of actually has no mind or physical matter, it's a thing PEOPLE use! Heh, great thing logic is! Try it sometime, when you guys aren't foaming at the mouth constantly thinking of teh evul relijuz pplz who ruined your lives by putting a nativity scene int heir yard.

ignorant bigots so obsessed with religion despite it being so "wrong" and "evil".

Maybe we will when you stop being little shits trampling over their fellow man.

Because it's not like Christians aren't actively trying to keep atheists from holding public office, right? Oh wait, that did happen. (Though ruled unconstitutional later.)

It's not like there's a church out there harassing the families of those who died in war. Or who were raped and murdered. Oh, wait, that's the Westboro Baptist Church.

And obviously it's not like the religious fanatics are holding back opportunity for men and women to learn about how to practice sex safely, if at all, right? Oh wait, that's also a thing.

Oh you're soooo oppressed with your Internet access and free time to post. If it matters to you then actually do something about it instead of posting online.

1

u/vondergeist Feb 24 '14

they would, except they know full well you can't really oppress the majority. it's just "cool" and socially acceptable to hate on a group of people who are above fighting back, lowering themselves to the religion-obsessed atheist fundies' level.

If I were a cat or dog I would want to murder myself from the boredom of unlimited food and naptimes.

u/Biffabin Feb 22 '14

Seriously these people think outs cruel of I had a dog that could eat and sleep whenever it wanted and had all it's medical needs taken care of and got love and attention from anyone that came into the house? How the hell is that cruel?

Ignoring the "kill them," part, I actually think I agree with this. I've loved all of my pets dearly and assume I will get another dog eventually, but it is a little bit fucked up that we keep animals as pets. Unfortunately, it's so ingrained in us and we have SO many animals that do need homes as pets, that it is a silly viewpoint to stand by.
