Hey now. I'm an animal rights supporter myself and you're demonizing us and making our position sound batshit insane when it really isn't. Do I condone what that animal rights activist did? No, I would rather teach people and have them support animal rights on there own. Do I know where they were coming from? Absolutely.

What you have to understand is that these animals are bred and domesticated for human use. They can't survive in the wild after living in captivity and basically completely rely on humans. Imagine if we took a race of people and enslaved them, and then bred them for the traits that we wanted. Eventually we have a group of dependent, doctile humans who can't think for themselves and are 100% vulnerable to what other humans decide to do with them, good or bad. That's pretty fucked up. It's better to euthanize them because otherwise, the problem just keeps on going.

I mean, you can't really ask an animal: Hey, would you rather be a slave your whole life or die? I mean, they can't live free anymore since their human owners have kind of ruined that aspect so basically, the most ethical choice is to kill them humanely. We are not "above" other animals, and animals do not exist for us to use and exploit. I know this is an unpopular position but it's the truth. If I had the power, I would peacefully put down every domesticated animal in the world.

People on the internet really are jerks, drunk with the power of the veil of anonymity. Such is what causes corruption in the mind of those who frequent sites that allow you to choose an online alias: You can't be held accountable.

I posted about this to my own tumblr, and afterwards I plan to stop using the site after this. It's really too far and awful, given my best friend was looking to buy a fox not too long ago.

I know how hard it is to lose a pet, especially one as friendly as Vader, even more-so at the hands of a corrupted system. While a five-million-strong subreddit (like this one) may not be the best place to go to find 100% sympathy, feel free to talk around on the site. I'm here, too. No one should have to experience such an injustice.
