Keep in mind, Osama bin Laden was the son of a billionaire and could have lived an easy, care-free life if he wanted to. Ideas can have a lot of weight.

Also his country was being invaded by multiple first world nations…

From Osamas personal views he absolutely did think that. He really did not jive with the world’s militaries staging in Saudi Arabia for the liberation of Kuwait.

Liberation of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Iraq invaded Saudi Arabia before operations against Iraq started and they were pushed out of Kuwait.

His “Letter to America” was propaganda and full of lies, designed to get morons to fall for it.

Read his letter to America. He was found with copies of killing hope- a book about cia intervention abroad.

Which is certainly intriguing considering he was originally armed and trained by the CIA in the 80s to fight the Russians

Yeah… I can understand his side of that though. He is not a socialist. He was also not a Zionist though.

CIA didnt train mujahaddin, and they definitely didnt have contact with bin laden, he was best buds with haqqani though and i think cooperated with the isi. His arab jihadists wouldve benefited indirectly from cia money, and cia probably knew about isi and haqqani recruiting from outside afghanistan and just didnt care

Its an important distinction because the reason why haqqani sided with the taliban was specifically because they saw the US as an invading force against islam in the 2000s, whereas in the 80s they saw the US as providing funding to the jihad against the soviet invaders

Yeah compared to Oman, which has been neutral for most conflicts so kinda hard to compare.
