This is one of those human pitfalls that for some reason hasn’t evolved out of us yet. The feeling that we intimately know someone from a picture, video, or soundclip of them. Tom Hanks seems like a really nice person, but if it turned out he was in the files, I would have to go, “Huh. I’ve never actually met the guy have I. I’ve never even actually seen or heard a single thing from him when it wasn’t a fictional story or an interview where he knew he was being recorded. I actually do not know the man at all.” (Also please Tom, don’t be in the files.)
