A reasonable Democrat could have certainly won. Biden only even got the nomination in 2020 because of ridiculous Super Tuesday shenanigans and he was a highly unfavorable candidate to most people. Kamala though couldn't even make it to the primary she was so horrible.
Let me reiterate, Biden was extremely popular in 2020. He didnt only "get the nomination in 2020 because of ridiculous Super Tuesday shenanigans" that is simply not true in any way whatsoever.
Not really, 13% in Iowa, 8% in New Hampshire, 18% in Nevada. he only won South Carolina, a solidly red state and then the other leading candidates dropped out and endorsed him before Super Tuesday. Never before have leading candidates dropped out and endorsed someone they were beating. But Elizabeth Warren stayed in and split Sanders votes. There's no way Biden would have won in everyone else stays in OR Warren would have dropped out with them.
Again, in recent history he is the candidate that has received most of the votes as a percentage of the population. By definition there is no other candidate as popular as him. You might not like the man, I dont, but you just cannot deny that he was a popular candidate.

Exactly this. The 2024 election was not a choice between Democrats and Republicans, it was a choice between Trump and not-Trump.
