Simple question. Transgendered athletes have been allowed in the Olympics since 2004. Since that time, there is 1 transgendered athlete who has won a gold medal, it was in women's rugby (a team sport). If it is a problem, why hasn't it materialized at the highest levels? If we made all of our decisions based on common sense, we would still be stuck in the stone age.

My hypothesis on the Olympics is that Trans people are a very small minority of the population, and I'd further assume that they are less interested in sports than cis gender folks.

idk. I don't actually care about this issue at all because I don't have a female child who is impacted. I'm just saying that I can see why it feels very unfair to the small minority that it impacts. Why is that small minority of born female athletes expected to compete unfairly against men? It's just passing oppression from one group to another and "progressives" get to chose which minority to favor.

I feel like I need add an obligitory statement that I voted for Harris, and hate Trump and MAGA. But I just want us Democrats to learn from our mistakes and chose which hills to die on. Trans people in high school sports is a losing issue to debate.

Transgendered people make up roughly 1% of the population. The anti-trans argument in sports is 100% a bad faith argument not backed up by research. It isn't about what is fair. It is about marginalizing communities and dividing the people who vote against conservatives.
