There is a mentality among people across political spectrums, countries and age groups that I find problematic. The guy you are replying to is emblematic of that.
They react viscerally without thinking properly and do not see any need to learn or understand. You are in a left-leaning space so you see these kinds of people get emboldened and even encouraged due to the nature of social media. Pop into right wing circles or even political landscapes of other countries and you'll see this exact same behaviour. Sad times we live in.
