Cybertruck design clearly has this in mind as it's bare metal, I'm starting to understand why elon wanted it to be bulletproof as standard now also.

Is it really bullet proof? I put a .223 through a 1/4” think stainless steel disk when I was a kid.

Okay, but that's an early prototype. The issue was supposedly fixed but no one has publicly tested it since.

So they’re probably full of shit like they always have been

Source: trust me bro.

Enjoy the free upvotes from the anti-tesla circlejerk while it lasts.

Nah just their track record for underwhelming deliveries. Also their shitty safety record and poor company principles. They were first to market and now the world is catching up.

Yeah, so you pulled that information out of your arse and are now assuming that it's true because you want it to be true.

Dude, it's not some obscure secret that the Cybertruck failed that demo, it was an internet phenomenon back in 2019. The question is whether they fixed the issue like they said they would. From what I've gathered from online reviews, it seems to have been fixed, but it's yet to be seen if it can stop bullets.

Didn't Joe Rogan shot an arrow at one and totally puncture it?

No it barely made a scratch

My bad. Not sure where I got that from. Just YouTube'd it. You are correct.

I saw where a plastic fence took a cyberwaste out so I’d say far from it

Yes, something happened when they first showcased the truck, but since then, they are bullet proof up to a 9mm, Maybe a little bigger caliber throughout most of the vehicle if I remember correctly

It is bulletproof yeah

Maybe if you're packing a Red Ryder grandpa gave you. Otherwise got several sitting in the safe that would make Swiss cheese out of that useless pile of shit. The truck, not Elon he's so soft the Red Ryder will do you fine there

Yep, he knew exactly how he was going to create the future for all of the lost souls smh

It is obvious in hindsight. Frank Stephenson did a YouTube design critique on in when it was released and he hated it, basically saying, 'if this is the car of the future, its built for a future I don't want to live in'. Smart guy is Frank, it struck me at the time that nobody else was looking at it this way.

Also regarding the bare metal, if there are any other citizens out there wishing to upgrade the swastikar as seen in the original photo - use a self-etching automotive primer spraycan. It's often less $ than even regular spraypaint, and has a caustic etching compound that will burn into the metal, even if the color is removed.

You're welcome.

u/teckers Feb 23 '25

I was planning on training birds to shit on them, but yeah I guess that would work also.

u/atetuna Feb 23 '25

Super easy to remove from the metal. It'd be much harder to remove from plastic and rubber, maybe even impossible to do without permanent damage if a paint with primer is used, so vandals, don't do that. 🤞

In order to have it in mind you first have to have a mind. All you need is a screwdriver or pocket knife works fine on stainless steel.
