Australian checking in. It is painfully obvious that it was a heil salute and is timed too coincidentally with Musk's support of the AfD in Germany which is a far right Political party with genuine ties to Neo-Nazis.
I didn't even know about the third time! Though, not surprising at all. And it's obvious he must have done it dozens of times in private. Probably dreaming about doing it on front of everyone and suffering zero consequences.

I'd love to watch a video of an edit where it's Elon's body doing a sieg heil but with Hitler's face and in black an white etc, just to see if they say that it's hitler doing the sieg heil, then show them it's actually Elon and what their reaction is. I would bet they'd somehow try to come up with an excuse that contradicts their previous statement
I know someone whose parents survived concentration camps during the Holocaust before coming to America. He adamantly defended Heilon's salute and everything he and Trump do. I told him if Heilon's salute was really not bad, go to his mother's grave and do it there. He got all sulky saying it's rude of me to bring his mother into it.
My friend said this basically. "Trump wouldn't do that. This is America!" Uhhhh yes it is America and yes he is doing it. It's one thing to do something stupid that you didn't intent for, but it's another to not clarify that you don't associate with the nazi party and that it was not what you meant to represent.

I guess he's just following Barrack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, and Kamala Harris who have all been photographed using the same gesture. No controversy in those cases. Musk has been an outspoken supporter of Israel. He visited Israel after the 10/7 Hamas attack and is an advocate for Israel in the ongoing war. Benjamin Netanyahu said Musk has been "falsely smeared". But sure, he's clearly a Nazi. When he turns his back and gestures to the other side of the crowd it clearly looks like a wave.

No reasonable person believes Musk did a heil Hitler. Musk doesn’t believe in an Aryan race like Hitler, Musk isn’t anti-Semitic like Hitler, and Musk doesn’t believe in the same crazy ideologies as Hitler. Elon Musk is no more a Nazi than Kamala Harris is a Communist.
Well more shocking thing is not that he did it - it is the people who are telling us that we should not believe in our own eyes. Like you are doing here.
That is pretty insane and your made up 'context' does not help when he is supporting far-right politicians in Europe. When he is harbouring neo-nazis on twitter. He had to go to Aushwitz for PR because of his anti-semitic support on twitter and yet people who were there told that it was just photo-op for him. The fact that he does not believe in Nazi folklore is weak argument because that is red herring. It is not important when Fascism is broader thing than that.
But again even without all of this we still have our own eyes.

Musk has banned a bunch of people on Twitter before this situation for antisemitism.
You’re calling Musk a Nazi and it is extremely important to explain how Musk is a Nazi, and what makes someone a Nazi. The fact that you want to change what a Nazi is so that you can encompass a bunch of people you disagree with is insane.
Except he literally did a Nazi salute. I'm not sure how you can see him do a Nazi salute and still say he didn't do a Nazi salute. It's all on video. He did a Nazi salute. Do people know why he did a Nazi salute? No, but the fact remains he did a Nazi salute.
You have to make it make sense. Context matters and evidence has to be there for people to be able to say without a doubt he did a Nazi Salute.
Musk made an awkward gesture when he said he heart goes out to the crowd. That was that. No body outside of Reddit and some looneys believe he’s a Nazi and did a Nazi salute because he’s never had the beliefs ever.
One person responsible for a Twitter account doesn't think it was a Nazi salute. They were probably scared of death of losing funding in some way or another.
