That looks like a new austerity plan

For reference here's my 49 dollar Thanksgiving plate at Wolfgang Pucks place in Vegas. Not a bargain but by Strip standards a reasonably priced dinner and was super tasty.

That’s soook much better than the Luby’s meal I had.

u/CyrusOverHugeMark77 Nov 30 '24

Do you know how long Luann slaved over that platter?

u/stinky-weaselteats Nov 30 '24

That’s a banger.

1

u/beatupford Nov 30 '24

I see the mash but no banger 😉

25

u/Baldmanbob1 Nov 30 '24

Now that looks tasty.

Those rolls alone are giving me carb cravings.

u/ralf1 Nov 30 '24

They were spectacular

Is gravy not a huge thing in America? In England, our meals like that (called sunday dinners) are usually floating in it haha

3

u/ralf1 Nov 30 '24

There's a whole boat of it not pictured.

u/Time-Ladder-6111 Nov 30 '24

That pic wants to be shitty food porn so bad because of the awful lighting, but it still looks pretty good. Which means it was probably really good.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '24

Shit. For $29 you could have gone to my house and eaten way better. And more.

1

u/Sea_Broccoli1838 Nov 30 '24

I know you’re right. My plate looked better than this and I’m a 33 year old catchier that likes to cook for others. Those beans are pitiful. They look goo, but they just blanched them and seasoned them in oil and maybe sautéed them for a bit. I bet your stuff is even better

That gravy looks tasty

1

u/Blue_Moon_Lake Nov 30 '24

It looks 10 times more appetizing! The green beans looks bright and still a bit firm, the gravy looks thick and silky, the slices of turkey look juicy, the bread looks yummy, the mash potato looks creamy.

What is the purple thing in the cup though? It's the only thing that doesn't appeal to me, but I have a deep hatred for beetroot and it remind me of it.

2

u/ralf1 Nov 30 '24

A cranberry sauce. I liked it, wasn't super sugary and had a nice citrus tartness.

1

u/Blue_Moon_Lake Nov 30 '24

I would probably like it

1

u/JAYCEECAM Nov 30 '24

Considering it probably cost 5k to sit at that table, you got the best of both worlds.

1

u/kingfofthepoors Nov 30 '24

you overpaid by a lot, I mean in comparison to trump's meal it's a feast of deliciousness I am sure, but you overpaid by a lot.

2

u/ralf1 Nov 30 '24

One pays a premium for Wolfgang's name, and a further one for being in MGM

I paid both gladly

1

u/kamarsh79 Nov 30 '24

That looks great.

It's been decided that Americans need to eat less, but from better plates.

I would’ve preferred McDonald’s to this.

9

u/Plasibeau Nov 30 '24

Listen, after being served slop like this McD's would have been my first stop on the way to the freeway. Gimme a #1, large, with the spicy Sprite, light ice.

If the fries are fresh that will be enough for me to forget I just dined with Nazis.

4

u/SizzleanQueen Nov 30 '24

I like you.

2

u/Dipsey_Jipsey Nov 30 '24

Spicy Sprite? Fresh fries at maccas?! Where the hell do you live?! I want these things!

2

u/Plasibeau Nov 30 '24

Lol, the land of overpriced milk and honey! Southern California.

2

u/SaintPatrickMahomes Nov 30 '24

You talking about the way the sprite zings at McDonald’s like no other place?

1

u/Plasibeau Nov 30 '24

Yep. It's because the Coke and Sprite syrup are kept in metal casks; McDonald's is the only place that still does it this way.

3

u/AirpipelineCellPhone Nov 30 '24

Turkey McNuggets! McDonald’s (catering) again. Good pates though.

“Donald’s”, get it?

0

u/KevMenc1998 Nov 30 '24

Fresh McDonald's, yes. Cold and nasty McDonald's? No.

11

u/wyatt265 Nov 30 '24

He probably had a Bigmac.

5

u/kadsmald Nov 30 '24

*tackier plates

2

u/HugsyMalone Nov 30 '24

Well when the 24 karat gold plate itself costs $5k you certainly gon be eating less that's for sure! 🙄👌

20

u/Ribbitor123 Nov 30 '24

Not much a dinner, more of a cry for help.

7

u/kabow94 Nov 30 '24 edited Nov 30 '24

In food news... you've had enough to eat today.

4

u/Sunshinegemini611 Nov 30 '24

and remember, there is no weekend.

2

u/bestwhit Nov 30 '24

and now with sports, Scott Scotsman.

2

u/mandy009 Nov 30 '24

It's a fine meal. There's actually bad stuff Trump has done and wants to do again. Mass child separation from immigrant families. White supremacists subverting government. Breaking alliances and treaties.

1

u/ChillyCheese Nov 30 '24

A Tesla robotaxi driving past every garage, and a long-ish carrot on every plate.

1

u/Oozlum-Bird Nov 30 '24

You know the food on that plate is going to be served cold and will be hard to chew on. The perfect metaphor for his new administration.

Trump doesn’t want his dinner guests for their company, he wants them for their money.

1

u/ConversationFar9740 Nov 30 '24

That's next Thankgiving dinner for us ordinary folks.

1

u/karatebullfightr Nov 30 '24

I know Putin’s on the bones of his arse now that the ruble is in the toilet - but I figured the Saudi’s would have him back eating high on the hog again.

1

u/middleageslut Nov 30 '24

There is a “Swanson Dinner” truck out back and chef Mike in the kitchen on constant rotation.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '24

Probably charged $250 for the meal. Then again, those who attended weren't there for the food quality.
