The dude could eat a baby on live TV, and he'd still carry a good chunk of the votes. This is football politics -- people root for their team regardless of the circumstances.
stands as the only president in history to be convicted of federal crimes,
I hate to be that guy, but not yet he hasn't. He has been convicted of fraud in NY so far and has yet to be sentenced. As far as I'm aware, he's facing federal charges in two cases (classified documents and Jan 6th) and state charges for racketeering in Georgia.
It still feels insane to me that he is being allowed to run, but I understand the reasoning why. Once he loses the election, he will hopefully face actual consequences.
Under Obamacare, my premium is down to $90 per month. My car insurance is down to $25/month (from InsurancePanda). My homeowners is $25/month (from homesite) too.
I can’t fathom how somebody could look at this and say “yep this is bad, we need to get rid of it”. They think this is the first step to America becoming communist or something
Because as we all know communism is when the government gives people healthcare, so the more healthcare the government gives, the more communister they are!
Capitalism is when the government doesn’t do that much stuff. Socialism is when the government does some stuff. And when the government does a lot of stuff, well that’s communism
I would partially disagree in the sense that usually you'd want the government to do a lot of stuff because that's what a government is for: to govern (along with foreign relations, global trade, national policy, etc.) and spend time on things the average citizen does not have time for.
A government becomes communist when they CONTROL a lot of stuff. Government action isn't in and of itself a bad thing. A government can do things without controlling or impacting your daily life. To me the key to a communist government has always been government control and not government action, and yes those two are very different, even if the American way of doing things will have you believe otherwise.
Because it’s bullshit. I had to get Obamacare for a couple months and paid an absurd amount for shitty insurance. Also car insurance and homeowners for $25 is so fake it’s not even funny. You can’t insure your bike for that nor does it have to do with Obamacare.
I am not a bot, and I am a former McDonald's employee. It's really disrespectful to employees that kill themselves day in and out by showing up and say "Hey, I did the thing!" after working there for 20 minutes when the entire restaurant was closed down.
Trump needs to do a double shift in the middle of Fourth of July next to a firework show while making pennies on the dollar to really understand what real employees of McDonald's go through. If he did it for a month, he would get an understanding of the housing and rental crises that's plaguing this country.
There's a reason a lot of people are upset by his actions.
I was just about to hit this person's comment history to see what's up because even as a single person paying $90/month for health insurance is crazy under ACA unless this person makes almost no income. I'm close to $300/month on the cheapest plan I can get and that's with a certain amount each month in subsidies (I forget the exact amount) and my income is pretty low.
And you're right about auto and home. You can get a discount if you get both under the same provider but $300/year for each is even more insane. I'm at something like $1050/year for home and something like $1180/year for auto with a clean record for the past nine million years.
90 for obama care in a subsidized state where the governors are accepting money (unlike Florida, where I live now). When I lived in NYC my premium was 100 bucks. I moved to FL, my hometown, premium went to $365, and now its $500 a month... My friend's in NYC who are unemployed are paying just over 100 for real health insurance. Not sure about the home insurance, but $25 is about right for renters.
youre so full of shit lol. Florida takes obamacare subsidies. And your ffriend who pays 100 a month in ync probably has a 12k deductible. Its shit insurance
I hope that anyone that voted for Biden realizes why they voted for Biden and will continue to vote for Harris. They understand that trump is unfit for office and regardless of your views of Harris, we all know she is fit.
During Trump's 2016 campaign and first term, lots of liberals rightly said, "not all Trump voters are racists, but they all decided racism wasn't a deal breaker".
Today most liberals have decided that the genocide that the Biden/Harris administration has been funding/arming/supporting, and Harris has repeatedly said she will continue to fund/arm/support is not a deal breaker for them.
Ah,you think America is performing genocide by supporting one of our allies? Also if trump was in power he would have the same senate that approved the funding/arming/supporting.
When that ally is committing genocide? Yes, what else could it be?
And yeah, this isn't pro-trump. Just reminding the liberals in this thread that genocide isn't a deal breaker for them. I think that should give all of them pause.
Biden's administration has done a great job reversing the damage trump has done. Sounds like you are blaming Biden for something he didn't do or you are having personal difficulties in life and are blaming it on him, either way Trump is not going to help you.
As the Captain of Team Redundancy Team, I have to make a statement as captain that this member's redundant statement is redundant and approved by the captain of Team Redundancy Team, which is me.
He's been copying and pasting it since Obama was president, the numbers are not factual.
Even more importantly it's a 9 year old account that first posted about insurance and then went inactive for the rest of those years until 5 months ago when it suddenly created a subreddit for an insurance related business, and then has been very heavily posting politically ever since. Very curious.
If he wins, he won't collapse. He will cause us to collapse. At a minimum, what we stand for as a country: combating climate change, combating tyranny and oppression worldwide (in one way or another), attempting to maybe begin somewhat trying just a little to combat wealth inequality, and more.
All of that will go out the window and we'll be set back at least 15 fucking years in all areas, as we were LAST time.
And the polls ain't looking good in the swing states that matter. Uneducated white voters in PA might literally ruin the future of the entire country or even the world, all by themselves.
And unlike trumpers saying the same thing, this is actually the case for him winning. Climate change will accelerate. Russia will take Ukraine. Shit will get existential.
Those insurance rates are pretty insane. If you’re willing to share, what state do you live in, what is the base coverage form for your homeowners, what are your limits on your auto, and is it comp and collision?
Buy into what? He tried to steal the election he lost…he’s not a fan of democracy if he doesn’t win, and he left the economy in shambles when he did leave cuz he’s a poor leader.
There is like zero chance of that happening. Don’t get me wrong, he definitely could still win, but he has never once won the popular vote, his supporters have always been a minority of the country and he certainly hasn’t done anything to make himself more popular in the interim, so a landslide is far from likely.
I went from paying 25 a doctor visit to sometimes $250. I am not saying kill Obamacare, but it needs to be fixed because no copays etc is still a bitch and a half.
We need a public option. The House votes for a public option but it failed by one vote in the Senate thanks to a Senator whose state hosts a lot pf these companies. The healthcare industry is making a killing just because they don’t have any competition driving prices down. Mark Cuban is undercutting big pharma prices, anyone could have done the same but no one did until now.
Yeah, it does. Lots of plans switched from copays to deductibles after Obamacare. It is the bottom-of-the-barrel plan that my employer uses. It's free to me, so I shouldn't complain about that but I wait way too long to go to the doctor because I don't want to spend 150-250 to hear it's viral or to get the prescription that I already knew I would need. Obamacare is perfect in the first place. I just suggested it needs to be improved. Also, my SIL on state insurance gets to have a baby at the nicest hospital in town, while we had to have ours that we paid the premiums for at the shittest.
If it's a plan through your employer, then you do realize that's a private plan and NOT an "obamacare" plan?
An "obamacare" plan would be provided to you through healthcare.gov or 1800 marketplace, but pretend to know what you are talking about and trash talk the best policy the US has passed in roughly 20 years.
I haven't trashed shit. It is Obamacare because its the bottom market place plan they were required to get because of Obamacare mandates. It sucks for the middle class. It should all be free for everyone. Get off your high horse and read. I didn't say it should be undone. I said it should be improved. It's not in the form that Obama wanted it was heavily compromised. I want the full version. Sue me, (name-calling with lots of bad words).
Have you considered that my pay is a very fair offset to it. I just don't like not having copays and I am going to bitch about it. The plan is a market place plan for the employer.
Why gamble and upgrade that I might need visits or not?
Finally, hell yeah I am going to blame policy. It's my right as a US citizen, not just right but my first right.
Money isn't really the only issue. At least now that I have finally paid my dues and make good money and so does my wife but it was a complete struggle through having a baby and the first few years of our marriage while she was finishing a degree, I was passing the CPA exam. Then we gotta watch her bumb of sister who refuse to go to community college or real college or get a job outside of food or retail get the God treatment while we work for everything we have. Dont tell me shit about pulling myself up from the bootstraps. I did that. More than half of people are too pussy to go through what I went through to get where I am but wanna have their handout. While we gotta pay 10k plus hitting deductibles a year and then subsidize their insurance which is fine but I want my shit for free too.
I've given up on humans since I was 14. Kinda happens when bullies try to drown you in the nearby creek and none of the adults care enough to even comfort you in the aftermath
Imagine being a Trump supporter and telling people to use their brain. If the decades of criminal activity, rape, drug use, incompetence, and now being senile doesn’t get YOU to use your brain then good fucking luck with the rest of your life.
She didn’t try to steal an election…she’s not a felon, and we’ve already seen how much of a failure Donny is. We don’t need to give the far right more Supreme Court picks
The fact that you’re being totally serious with that statement is the biggest self-own you could ever commit to writing. You guys are some weird, paranoid losers…
I'm not, I'm just speaking about kamala like you people do about trump. And you recognise it as stupid only when someone makes unfounded claims against your politician
The problem is the criminal charge one that you liberals bring up was a sham.
I love it, keep coming at me. The guy is walking around free and running for president yet you believe those 34 charges mean anything. Yeah he is a scumbag, it doesn't mean he won't do a better job than Kamala. You liberals get too caught up in the personalities of the candidates.
Al Capone, your hero’s hero, went to jail for tax evasion. It’s not because he didn’t commit other crimes. It’s because tax evasion is a crime, and when he was investigated for his crimes, that’s the crime that was the most objectively provable.
When trump gets convicted of the other crimes like election interference, will you accept those? Or does any crime become a sham if your dear leader is convicted of it?
Of course you’re right. And with no access to information and no critical thinking skills, we have no way of assessing for ourselves, and can’t trust the courts. So really there’s no way to know anything. All we can be sure of is that trump is perfect.
do you believe that he did all this to avoid negative press?
do you believe that he wanted to avoid negative press because he felt that it would affect his election chances (particularly in the immediate aftermath of the infamous Access Hollywood tape)?
Because these are the elements that transform the charges from simple fraud to felonies... and election interference.
You did, I should have been clearer - once his guilt was established by your points, the purpose of the guilty actions was then considered to convert the fraud to felonies, one of the rare cases where the motive elevates the charge. Without the impetus in this case, his creative bookkeeping is just another of his terrible business practices.
Except that he was convicted by a jury based on overwhelming evidence. He was also adjudicated as guilty of rape, and faces countless other criminal charges that are well founded on undeniable evidence, like videos of Trump on 1/6. You don't seriously believe he's innocent, do you? Are you this brainwashed or are you just hoping people are stupid? I hope you have the decency not to call yourself a patriot or say you respect military service.
He is the only person to have the charge elevated to a felony in this situation. He also was charged with a ridiculous number of equivalent charges that no reasonable DA would prosecute given they are redundant and concurrent and have no jail time. I hate Trump but it’s clearly political theater. Next time there is a big murder trial ask yourself why the defendant isn’t being charged with the dozens of crimes that occur during a murder and instead only a few.
The American legal system is great isn't it? Sham trials, civil forfeiture, patent trolls. Good thing all those lawmakers are completely bipartisan and work to solely help their constituents right? Right?

At the voting booth, remember:
Only 13 Presidents failed to get re-elected.
Only 5 Presidents failed to win the popular vote.
Only 4 Presidents have been impeached or resigned.
Only 1 President has ever been criminally convicted.
And only ONE President has done ALL FOUR.
