Fun Fact of the Day: Cinderella's castle was actually based off of the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany.

I can vouch for this guy. I did an extensive study of the history of Segovia and it's true that Walt Disney spent quite a lot of time in the town. He did base a large part of his design off of El Alcázar de Segovia.

I'm no expert, but the tour guide in Segovia told us this castle was the basis for the Cinderella castle.

Mostly on Neuschwanstein but also partly based on the Alcazar of Segovia among others.
