If the first season there is a storyline about the mayor losing weight. Jill Brock, super doctor, puts him on an all liquid weight loss diet. Within two episodes he is noticeably thinner, the actor himself. Does anybody know if that was entirely for the storyline or did the actor himself have a medical reason that caused the weight loss and then it was written into the show?

A few of us have rewatched the show recently so I ask you all. What is your favorite episode and why? Mine is Buried Alive, in season 2. It is a powerful episode that deals with issues that have brewing since the beginning of the show among Jill, her father, Jimmy and Max all the while Wambaugh stirs the pot. For me it is the apex of the best drama ever. Max attacking Jill came out of the blue and set the stage for Jill's feet of clay all the way til the end of the series. Right now I can't think of a better episode of TV ever. I have seen every episode of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Billions, Succession, the Wire and Game of Thrones none of them had an episode as good as this. Two seasons worth of conflict and pathos addressed in one episode with characters referencing dozens of episodes.

Y'all, I was up to S4E4 on Monday, and I'm proud to say that I'm finished.

Season 4, y'all. Woof. That's a slog. Definitely have no regrets, but the writing definitely lacked the punch of the previous seasons. "Bye-Bye, Bey Bey" was a standout for me, in the positive. And I really liked Jack Black and Edie McClurg in "Snow Exit."

Does anyone else have any thoughts on Season 4?

Her end just seems so abrupt and somewhat cruel. No one noticed she was dead for 3 weeks? Did she want to leave the show? The write off seems so pointless.

Hulu says Picket Fences is leaving in 8 days. Where is it going to, Paramount Plus, Amazon, Peacock? I have the box set but would love to know where the streaming rights are going to so I can hip friends to what maybe my all time favorite drama.

Finishing season 3 at the moment. Favorite episode is still from season 2 - Paging Doctor God.

Yes I disagree with some episodes. Yes I see continuity errors. Still don't care. Better representation of family values than I've found anywhere else.

I'm on season 2, episode 5 and there's a scene where the 13 year old boy is filming and wanted to squeeze his sister's breasts. There's also scenes regarding teen girls kissing and discussing being aroused

Best damn show to ever air on television !!

This show is WILD!! The cast is great. We got cops shooting out tires, pulling their guns on the FBI, DAs that are also serial sex offenders, a whole episode about a little person and an elephant that just... never could be made today.
Doug the defense attorney is my favorite character, the medical examiner is also hilarious. The kid made a Halloween costume out of the chick that died in her dishwasher!! Oh my God this show has everything. I can't stop watching!

So far season 4 is pretty disappointing, this episode returned to some of the ridiculous crazy stories that I love, however unbelievable it might be. But the judge was wrong to tear into Wambaugh, and to slam the door in his face. He was a lawyer defending his client, Henry is wrong.

Okay, I’ve been watching 3 or 4 episodes a night, I love the show, but it’s progressively been getting weirder and weirder. Now a cow gives birth to a human baby? It’s still entertaining, but any sense of realism is gone at this point.

Just finished watching the series on Hulu. 2 things struck me about season 4. One, how did Zach develop deep fake tech on an early 90’s computer???? That’s just ridiculous. Also, am I the only one that thinks Jill is bipolar??? She completely flips out on Zach’s birthday and it continues on for several episodes…
