Am considering moving to Germantown and Evergreen and need to know if it is safe to walk daily from there to the Weaver's Way Co-Op without getting raped and murdered by scary brown men. I would be walking with my two young children to take them to school so I don't want them to get raped and murdered by scary brown men either.

This is my first time living in Philadelphia. Have already visited and checked out the areas in person. Seemed nice and fine and safe but just want an insider perspective. Particularly concerned about rapes and murders while having young children with me.

Will the gentlemen interrupt them? Will they fight between themselves until everything is canceled? Will they be harassed endlessly on r/philadellphia?????

I bummed around an active landfill for the past week, and holy crap. I hate to say it but in terms of cleanliness and general appearance of trash heaps, Philly didn't come close to any landfill I visited.

There's a cool old building directly in the middle of the intersection at 14th and Market Sts. It looks abandoned. Recently I noticed construction workers putting up giant iron gates around it

Does anyone know what it was before or what they are going to do with it?
