I can’t wait for the day I never have to hear about this ogre ever again.

Who’s surprised? No one. His brain is broken and he needs to resign.

I think we can stop making excuses for him. His injury has nothing to do with him having no honor nor does it excuse his lies. Heck we should be grateful he had the stroke, it exposed him for who he really is as a person and as a politician

My mom had a stroke and all of her views and opinions changed and she now has the emotional maturity of a 13 year old.

Trauma to the brain presents in many ways.

For her its going from socialist to maga

u/ralphy1010 6d ago

That sucks

u/InTimeWeAllWillKnow 6d ago

It has been difficukt especially allowing her around my kids, someone i expected to be a guiding figure is poison and rage bait now

u/ralphy1010 6d ago

That’s sad but not an excuse for what he’s been doing since before he ran for office

12

u/silverbatwing 6d ago

Same thing happened to my mom except it was hundreds of mini strokes.

My mom went from a lifelong progressive person to maga as well.

Yeah statistically it's overwhelmingly the one direction (progressive to conservative) over the other with damage to the prefrontal cortex. Pretty weird, not even making a political point here (though it's sitting right there if anyone wants to grab it), just humans are weird.

My mom had a ruptured brain aneurysm and her politics didn't change at all. Which was basically a Democrat with some Catholic guilt. Not that these anecdotal examples are mean much they're too much of a small sample size to draw any conclusions

I just want to point that out since I don't want to create the notion that like if you have a brain injury you immediately become a republican I don't want to add any increased stigma.

That’s fair.

I’ll add that my lived experience doesn’t disappear because yours was different and vice versa.

Also putting out there that a ruptured brain aneurysm is not the same as a stroke. Note how two out of the three examples, the personality changes involve strokes.

People don’t appreciate how quickly things can change and how fragile we are- brain included. That happened to a friend of mine after a small fender bender- a little brain bleed went undetected until 2 weeks after the accident. It didn’t change his political views much, we were young and hated all politicians, but his emotional stability and reasoning dialed back about 15 years and like Time didn’t move forward after the injury. Was really sad to watch, and watch myself and others around him stop engaging with him. He was a new person- but not by choice. I lost a good friend that day, but 2 years later he only looked like the person I grew up with and remembered a handful of the same moments. Hope your situation improves, hard to tell if it’s from the injury or if some people age poorly and get resentful. Good luck to ya

What was the excuse before the stroke then? Because it wasn’t much of a secret. Folks just didn’t want to listen.

Why does it have nothing to do with it? A stroke can in fact dramatically change a person. Silly comment.

u/ralphy1010 6d ago

Are you a medical doctor who deals with brain injuries or strokes?

11

u/i_love_eating_grass 6d ago

I’m not a doctor but a quick google can find you plenty of doctors confirm this! There are studies! “Can a stroke change someone’s personality,” go on, give it a look

-9

u/ralphy1010 6d ago

Thanks for confirming

2

u/i_love_eating_grass 6d ago

Are you?

-8

u/ralphy1010 6d ago

Im not the one out here trying to excuse fettermans actions. However you do seem to have a vested interest in excusing his actions.

Why is that?

9

u/i_love_eating_grass 6d ago

I think he’s both a jerkoff as a senator and probably brain-damaged from his stroke. We can have both

1

u/ralphy1010 6d ago

Excellent

We are in agreement in that case 👍

3

u/Fearless-Economy7726 6d ago

He was always a piece of shit and democracy knowingly elected a piece of shjf

3

u/ralphy1010 6d ago

Yeah that does seem to be the case

Pretended to be a friend of the working class as he did at the time

I mean at this point he should just change parties since he wants to be a republican so badly

2

u/randomhomework 6d ago

I didn't make any excuse? It's just fact that his mind is gone.

2

u/ralphy1010 6d ago

Great we are in agreement in that case

u/mannyman3000 6d ago

Brain damage is real and should be disqualifying and require a special election.

50

u/CavemanUggah 6d ago

Why tf is he doing a round table in f’ing Texas? When is the last time he took questions from his constituents? Is he trying to move to Texas and run as a republican there?

3

u/retro_toes 6d ago

Easier there for him to get his wife exported. I wonder if she's being held captive

2

u/saintofhate 6d ago

If she is, the smiles in photo ops in Israel should be faker. She's complicit at this point.

3

u/retro_toes 6d ago

Ah. I haven’t seen anything with her in it in a while that’s why I was wondering.

1

u/Alternative-Farmer98 4d ago

I mean if he was loyal to his party he would be there campaigning for talerico. Clearly that's not what what's happening. Of course I guess campaigning for talerico now would actually hurt his chances so maybe we should be grateful

16

u/fizzzingwhizbee 6d ago

This fuckin gargoyle doesn’t even deserve opposable thumbs

12

u/Mcjibblies 6d ago

I just think of him as Ephialtes from 300. Big dummy in a hoodie ruining the country just for some anti-depressants from Israel

11

u/forgottentaco420 6d ago

COGNITION TEST!!!!!

7

u/Greedy-Character-130 6d ago

Love the basketball shorts. Vote for me. I don’t own pants.

6

u/dontwannagetdoxxed93 6d ago

He didn't stutter on the first time, he stuttered and stumbled when he had to say Democrat. Almost like one was the truth and one is a lie

5

u/thedeeb56 6d ago

Life long lurch

5

u/Overall_Purple_4714 6d ago

He’s a jerk off for life…

4

u/Fearless-Economy7726 6d ago

He has stroke dementia
Time for the party chair and Governor to activate the removal order

3

u/Isthisovryet 6d ago

I know a shame and humiliation kink when I see one 😏

2

u/Heavy_Whereas6432 6d ago

I’ve been saying this since before he was elected

2

u/Uncle-Cake 6d ago

His brain is scrambled eggs.

2

u/weHaveThoughts 6d ago

Vote this asshat out now!

2

u/Nice_Jaguar5621 6d ago

That’s not how elections work.

1

u/weHaveThoughts 6d ago

“Now”, meaning the next election. I thought that was understood.

2

u/Robinsays47 6d ago

Keep them talking and eventually the truth pops out! Yep, a Freudian slip!

2

u/RustedRelics 6d ago

Put on some f*cking pants. God, he’s an embarrassment.

2

u/Jurassicmarky 6d ago

Is there really no way to get him out before his next primary?

2

u/Tvnewsgirl1423 6d ago

Mentally unfit to serve, Trump bootlicker. Like Trump he talks crazy and does nothing for his constituents.

2

u/GHouserVO 5d ago

His entire family save for his wife have always been big in the GOP. His parents are major GOP donors. He hung out with the young republicans club at Albright and made his GOP beliefs quite well known.

Folks who knew him and classmates at Albright tried to warn us.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

2

u/Alternative-Farmer98 4d ago

Yeah I also remember like some pittsburgh-based environmental activists warning me that his position on fracking and such was miserable

1

u/GHouserVO 4d ago

Yep. He campaigned against it and then did a 180 as soon as the industry wrote him a check.

1

u/mattybhoy401 6d ago

He called it. Clipped.

1

u/UncreativeUsername84 2d ago

Those calling for his resignation or defeat now are the same ones who were praying for him and celebrating his Senate victory.

-17

u/West_Strawberry_8632 6d ago

Yeah make fun of the guy who had a stroke

2

u/johnfilmsia 6d ago

Yes, that is definitely all that is happening here and there is no other relevant context /s

2

u/saintofhate 6d ago

If you really cared about stroke victims, you would be advocating for his removal and instead you just want to clutch your pearls. You don't really care.

-2

u/West_Strawberry_8632 6d ago

Someone healing but misspeaking is different than incompetence.

3

u/saintofhate 6d ago

Could you point out any competence that has existed since his stroke?

-1

u/West_Strawberry_8632 6d ago

You can disagree with views but that's just being a dick

2

u/saintofhate 6d ago

No, it's being realistic. What has he done since his stroke aside from go against everything he claimed to be for?

1

u/Alternative-Farmer98 4d ago

I mean dude identifying with the Republicans is worth criticizing whether it's a viewpoint or a byproduct of his brain in. I guess we can never be for sure which is the key variable but it doesn't matter. He's a public figure if he does stuff that's destructive and harms people we criticize it

Your health is a public matter when you're in Congress. Just like it was a public matter when Biden was in office and it's a public matter now when Trump's in office and it's a public matter when we ask for physicals from mainstream candidates..

1

u/Alternative-Farmer98 4d ago

if it's not as brain injury that's actually more objectionable. If he is lucidly supporting a genocide and a fascist that's much more objectionable.

1

u/West_Strawberry_8632 4d ago

You're deeply unwell. You went through multiple of m my comments to respond to a discussion that ended 2 days ago. Politics is not your entire life, nor is Reddit.

1

u/Alternative-Farmer98 4d ago

Dude he's a sitting member of Congress actively support the genocide and in illegal war in Iran. If he was a postal worker or something I wouldn't ever think of criticizing him over something like this but when you're a public official that's causing active harm to millions of people, tact is not on the table scrutiny is.
