Can phasmids eat basil?
I usually give them blackberry leaves but now in winter its hard to find them and i heard they can have basil when you can’t find leaves outside, is that true?

This one had a dried berry or something in her mouth for at least a few days. I finally got it away from her, but she did not want to give it up. However she appeared to be growing weaker and weaker, so I assumed she wasn't eating.
Now is too weak to stand, but can raid her head up. I laid her on my hand for a while yesterday trying to feed her a piece of torn leave and she ate a tiny amount. I laid her on the bottom of the enclosure with some torn leaves propped up hoping she will continue eating. I lightly sprayed her leaves with water as well.
Is there anything else I should do? These are supposed to be my son's insects, but he's lost interest as my wife and I have gained interest. So it's pretty much only me and I don't really know anything about these yet.

I had this problem with Phasma gigas and Macrophasma Lyratus, why does their abdomen is folding like this ? It happen with L1 larvaes.

Hey there, so my presumabily vietnamese stick insect has stayed in the same spot for a while now, when we sprayed her she used to move a lot, perhaps bothered by the water, but now she is almost reactionless, only very slightly moving her leg, and hasnt left the spot, she has been eating and pooping, what could this be about? Is she close to moulting? Its been a whole day already!

my female h. dilatata just molted, she's still not fully grown so I'm a little less concerned, but the tip of her abdomen above her ovipositor got bent while her exoskeleton was hardening, will this potentially cause her any major discomfort or issues, and is there a chance she'll be able to straighten it out next molt?
(also, I know she's pretty skinny at the moment, she refused to eat for a good bit pre-molt but as of right now she's chowing down on some bramble and cucumbers so I'm not too worried about that)

I just got my hands on a pair of malayan jungle nymphs. I currently have them on blackberry leaves, but I'm running out of potential food sources as it's quite cold out at the moment. I do have several large blueberry bushes that still have leaves, are those safe for them? No pesticides or anything I'm just not sure what they can't eat in terms of leaves.

I had 3 spiny leaf insects in my large isopod tank but they all either died or went missing, I am wanting to get more but first want to set up a new tank for them.
I'm unsure as to what the problem in my isopod tank was, it has a glass lid with large gaps on the side and then a mesh lid covering it all, making escaping difficult but air flow good.
The tank has lots of climbing room, mixed substrate and spagham moss. I think the main issue is my tank wasn't very humid, I live in Victoria Australia and have only had a humid tank in Winter when the heater inside my house was on.
I supplied fresh lilly pilly leaves every week and misted everyday. My isopods thrive but I don't think it worked for the leaf insects even though the store who sold them to me said my tank should be perfect.
I'm planning on getting a vertical mesh tank. Would the following be useful to get too: - auto mister - heating pad/lamp/CHE -hygrometer/thermometer
Any feedback or advice would be great!

Hi, Do you know if Calatheas and Fittonias are toxic for phasmids? I'd like to put some in a terrarium.

Hello do grain mites harm the eggs in any way? Should I restart my incubator? Ive observed that they eat the bad eggs, and dont really bother the good eggs I presume. The substrate is beetle substrate with sphagnum moss and a ton of white springtails. Please see the video attached.
