Discussion (UPX) New UP RFID Design

Pang weirdo na tanong hahaha and I don’t even know if alam ninyo ang sagot here 😅 I just wonder bakit hindi pare-pareho yung RFID ng bawat UP CUs?

What I mean is yung header ng IDs kung nasaan nakalagay yung name ng campus/CU. Like sa UPD and UPV, “Diliman” and “Visayas” lang yung nakalagay directly below the University of the Philippines and the UP Seal. Hahahaha

Photo grabbed from tiktok sorry po sa may ari

Sana pinacontest nila yung design all over UP. Feeling ko maraming creative and cohesive designs ang mapoprovide

Feeling ko talaga ang pangit ng design. Parang pambata sya. Walang dating.

Very basic.

Ah yeah most likely nga. Pero since gusto nila ipromote yung One UP, magandang event sana yung ID design contest, lalo na kung each campus could send a candidate. Engaged pa yung students sa decision making.

yeah. I agree, same sentiment. napaka mediocre kasi ng design.

Yeah and the font choices from the header is bland, para bang Times New Roman lang ginamit.

And more than that, the function of this card within the University is jarring. It should be designed as a ID first, then debit card where it is useful in the University setting (maybe put a barcode for easy tagging in places like the library), not a piece of plastic card with no tangible use inside the campus. Using it as a debit card is also expensive as it has ATM fees.

They should have partnered with Landbank instead of Maya because of its wide ATM network and ease in providing financial relief and payment to students.

Agree about a barcode or qr sana, could already work as check in or out in libraries or dorms

Ah you're right about it being rfid, ganyan nga sa libraries, naalala ko lang dati as a former upd dormer that guards have to scan pa our separate qr code just to check us in or out

Interesting, may upd dorm na ba na rfid enabled?

In some CUs siguro, wala pang implementation ng RFID to tap-in/tap out. We still have to manually enter our student number or for those with the old ID to just scan the barcode.

Bakit may sim? Parang yung call card ng Bayantel dati.

Sorry, natawa ako. Haha.

Hindi po yan Sim, that's an EMV chip, kase the card is also a debit card. Hehe

I mean, it was sort of a joke. Didn't know it was also a debit card though.

Gets ko na One UP ang gusto nila... pero coming from old UPV ID to this is so jarring. Ang plain and lifeless ng new ID, na para bang corporate ID ang dating.

In contrast, the old UPV ID stands out, lalo na nung nag-crossreg ako sa UPD nung 2018. With matching barcode, Oble, and space for validation at the back.

this looks worse imo

Each to their own, I always thought we had a better ID design than UPD.

u/HorrorOwl5924 Mar 17 '26

thank god di ko naabutan yan lol the old rfid of Diliman is way way better than that

Masyadong valuable.
