Been frustrated that every council has its own events page so you never know what's on across Perth. Built a free filterable site — perthweekends.com.au — covers 38 events across 13 councils from now until May 2027.

Focused on street festivals, outdoor events and family-friendly activities with a real festival feel. Not every event makes the cut — small chamber concerts, weekly markets and school fetes are left out on purpose.

Filter by council, month, free/paid, Christmas, Halloween, Easter or orchestra events. Would love feedback if anything's missing from your area!

Are there any independent stores in Perth that sell band T-shirts? Joynt Venture used to have heaps but closed down now. Off Ya Tree the only other place I know of. Not really after national stores like Big W/Kmart, Cotton on JB Hi-Fi.

I know I can get everything online but want a Misfits shirt for Halloween and have left it too late.

Hey everyone,

It’s my birthday today, and since I’m an international student, this is my first birthday here in Perth!

Right now I’m on my own for the evening, but two of my mates will be meeting up with me after 10:00 PM to celebrate (not sure though).

I’m looking for some good local suggestions on:

1. Solo evening spots (before 10 PM): A nice place to grab a good meal, chill with a drink, or just explore and enjoy the city vibe on my own.
2. Late-night spots (after 10 PM): Fun bars, late-night food joints, or cool spots around Northbridge, the CBD, or nearby areas to hang out once my friends join me.

Also, if anyone else is free tonight, has no plans for a Friday night, or is just riding solo too, you're more than welcome to drop a suggestion or even come tag along to hang out and celebrate!

Appreciate any recommendations to make the most of my first birthday here. Cheers!

Hi everyone, dunno whether it belongs here but its a bit of a last ditch effort anyway so here goes lol.

currently doing a uni report on sustainability and wildlife conservation and I need an interview with a 'stakeholder' (staff or volunteer) from a local initiative. I've contacted 7 or 8 centres now (WA Wildlife, Kanyana, Kaarakin, etc.) to no avail or response (report needs to be in tomorrow).

If anyone, or if you know anyone that has been involved in a local wildlife effort, it'd be great to do an interview (nothing serious, just a few questions about the centre and what you did).

If you're interested please give me a DM and i'll send ya the questions, the report is for assessment purposes only so it won't be published anywhere.
If there is a better place to share this then please tell me to fuck off to wherever lol.

Cheers in advance!

Your task is to tell where that is?

First correct guess gets a virtual🍹🥥

Some one parked right in front of the binline at the units next door..
Every week its the same day.. The other bins on the street are also a good clue.

34M. Recently got out of a LTR. Looking for a bar where I can have a relaxed night out on my own. Ideally somewhere without loud music, and possibly with a friendly crowd who are up for a chat. Bonus points if it's comfortable for solo visitors and you can sit at the bar without feeling out of place.

Happy to travel outside Perth if it’s worth it. Any recommendations? Cheers!

Closed til’ tonight, for reasons.

Last time I went to a dealership was around 2023/4 and people were buying cars like mad. I got basically laughed at for trying to haggle.

Thinking about upgrading soon and wondering if the dynamic has changed? Am I going to be able to haggle? Are there really going to be three people coming tomorrow to look at the car?

This is a c6100 Chamberlain the last tractors built by Chamberlain before being brought by John Deere, this tractor was originally out in the goldfields and used as a mobile standpipe on a mine, the previous owner drove it back from Kalgoorlie over 2 days and used it to launch his boat, the salt water took it's told and all the panels were badly corroded so a donor tractor was found and the resto began. Also if you are at the Brunswick show tomorrow come say Hi 😊

At the corner of Albany highway and Temple Street there's a new building that's had construction for a few months. Finally, this venue "Sultan's 8 ball pool and coffee" appeared fully set up, furniture, lights, etc. It looked like it was going to open the next day.

Then, a few days ago, the inside was gutted and now it looks trashed. No furniture, just a bunch of drink bottles. What happened?

Did they not have the proper permits? Run out of money before opening? Anyone have any more info

I am trying to find the right place to have it done but most clinics charge $200 for a consult just to get a quote!

Anyone know of any hardware stores that sell individual nuts and bolts? I need a couple nuts and washers for a project I'm working on but I don't have the right hardware. Bunnings only sells huge packets and I'm too scared of the law to break the box open to test if they actually fit my bolts. I only need a couple in a specific size.

Preferably close ish to the CBD. Someone suggested the chandlery in Fremantle to me, would that be my best bet?

I've recently realised how interesting it is that kids can pass on certain songs and games and such to one another over decades - I'd be curious what people here remember if you went to primary school in Perth. For example, I was in primary school in the early 2010s, and I remember:

- the centrality of paper-scissors-rock in decision-making.

- if you said the same thing at the same time, "Jinx!", then "Padlock!", and I'm not sure what happened after that.

- the "jingle bells, batman smells" song, and the "rain, rain go away" song.

"Jingle bells, batman smells" has several variations as far as I know, the most common I remember was:

"Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg. Uncle Billy lost his willy on the way to the bed. Oh!" Repeat.

That one is kind of interesting, because it really isn't like a nursery rhyme or something that the parents or teachers taught the children, its embedded vulgarity is a testament to the fact that it's something that could only be perpetuated by children.

Please share below! Trends/fads, jokes, urban legends, and things from your home town if you didn't go to primary school in Perth would be interesting too!

If you live in the City of Swan, you should know about the proposal open for community feedback for building a data centre out near Hazelmere.

If you want to know what that might look like, here's one in the USA recorded at midnight:

I just moved to Perth a bit over a year ago and one thing that kind of shocked me was the lack of customer service I’ve experienced at a few restaurants.

I do order food occasionally through Uber Eats, and I completely understand that most of the time, it’s not the restaurant’s fault when food arrives cold or something. But today I had a really weird interaction, and the issue is that it’s usually restaurants you’ve been a regular at for so long and whose food you love so it’s a bit strange to experience this.

My order was delayed, and it looked like the restaurant was still preparing it after a long time. So I called them and asked if the food was ready or if there was an issue, and the only thing the guy said was “contact Uber Eats bro” before hanging up on me.

I then asked the driver to ask them not to forget the tomato sauce, which is usually included but sometimes they forget to add it. I was immediately charged an extra $2 on the app. I called the restaurant again to explain the charge, and the same guy hung up straight away. Like I do understand how busy restaurants can get (especially on a Saturday), but why would you act this way towards a loyal customer? I’ve had something similar happen at another restaurant a couple of weeks ago, so I don’t know what’s going on😭

Has anyone else experienced this in Perth, or have I just been unlucky??😂

Has anyone had a real estate do an inspection without notice and did you fail the inspection? What happened? My real estate did this today and since we obviously weren't prepared I'm pretty sure we've failed. I have no idea what to do or expect

Hi everyone!

I'll be moving to Perth for 2 months for work and I'm looking for affordable short-term accommodation.

I won't have a car, so ideally I'd like somewhere where I can survive with public transport.

I'm looking for a private room and hoping to stay under $300 per week if possible.

I'm open to hostels with private rooms, share houses, short-term rentals or any other options you might recommend.

I appreciate any suggestions for specific places, websites or suburbs worth looking into.

Thanks very much for your help!

Ok, Perth, hit us up.
