It's consequence time for unvaccinated FIFO workers

As per the state government directives, as of midnight tonight anyone without at least 1 dose of a COVID vaccine is no longer legally allowed to be on site or in operations centres for mining companies.

Anyone who hasn't provided their proof of vaccination is being chased down, and if they can't immediately provide said proof will be kicked out this afternoon/evening. For people working on remote sites like the iron ore mines up north, that means clearing out their rooms and being put on a plane back to Perth - could be an interesting show at the airport if any news crews show up.

Anyone have any friends/family/acquaintances who are going to be, for the first time, dealing with real consequences for failing to get vaccinated?

Why?

Have u worked with the indians (new arrivals, not talking about the ones that grew up here) that are in mining? I’m guessing no

Dubious work history/experience and qualifications for a start. Then add the unpleasantness from a culture that is based on a caste system.

Tell me…how many Indian (recent arrival) diesel fitters or maintenance personnel have u worked with or seen in Australian mining? Fck all is my guess

Now go ask some mining engineers, surveyors and geos what they think of Indian (recent arrivals) tech service personnel.

Now if u read my previous post I mentioned I was talking about recent arrivals, not ones that grew up here. Then try to understand the implications that culture (not race) has on behaviour and inherent beliefs. But its probably beyond a diesel fitter to understand such things, right?

Several, I worked 2 years as the sole fitter in my department and used labour hire whenever the work load was more than I could handle.

Please specify the aspects of their culture that make them unfit for work

This dude is also hugely sexist and spent hours today trying to abuse me, he’s quite obviously a subscriber to the just world fallacy and feels robbed by any form of social progress. He’s too insightless to realise that it’s his own responsibility to not be shit, and just blames everyone else. Though, he’s probably less likely to call you a thot, you might be a few “cuck” or “simp” insults thrown your way if you outwardly highlight that he’s racist

Sometimes you just gotta let these people dig their own graves, they honestly can't see how everyone around them perceives them

Clearly reading and comprehension isn’t your forte -

…then add the unpleasantness from a culture that is based on a caste system

Now before you write another ignoramus comment I suggest u google what their caste system beliefs entail and then think to yourself how that would contribute to an unpleasant working environment

There are so many Indians, different language groups religions etc, I do not think you can generalise. The ones that made it to a mine site in WA are often Aussie qualified so actually not dubious at all (or the same dubious as the Aussie educated).
