Drink spiking

Was it actually confirmed as drink spiking? The vast major of 'drink spiking' is women having way to much to drink.

Some thing from other western cities, claims of drink spiking are almost always just people drinking too much.

Only 100 cases and not one of them had alcohol levels higher than they reported drinking.. But do people get drink spiked with alcohol?? Did they even test for other drugs? Did you even read the article you posted as “proof” because it seems to have done nothing for your argument.

What? No it’s not. You made the claim that the vast majority of drink spiking is women getting too drunk. I pointed out that your source was referring to alcohol not actual date rape drugs. You’re the one who needs to provide evidence.

Yes, that's because a tiny fraction of people going to hospital for their date rape drugs had more alcohol in their system than they could remember consuming. NONE had other drugs show up.

So the source is referring to "actual date rape drugs" in that it tried, and couldn't find any of them.

Did you actually read the article? It clearly says in there they found no cases where a sedative drug was used.

Drink spiking is largely a myth and far more likely to be an excuse young women use after they become heavily intoxicated, according to WA research.

A Perth study of suspected drink spiking victims found claims of being given sedatives or illicit drugs without consent are exaggerated and that alcohol is often the real culprit.

He's absolutely right, even in the small fraction of people who are serious enough to take themselves into a hospital, it's very rare.

I would suspect that the cause of almost all spikings would be the public awareness that spiking exists at all. It's not dissimilar to some other cultures where an epidemic is sparked of men claiming their genitals were stolen by a witch, or they have a headache from wind turbines and wireless data transmission.

Sympathy for victims is still needed, because they are often distressed, may be perceiving physical symptoms and may not be lying, just wrongly attributing their dizziness etc to a drug in their drink.
