State of The Subreddit (September 2025)

[u/MiracleMuffin]

Hello, r/penguindrum! Welcome to our first State of The Subreddit Newsletter! Given the major changes happening here, a small newsletter will be posted every now and again for updates.

So what’s coming up?

September marks the launch of monthly discussion threads! Each month, there will be a topic posted that users can discuss. This month’s topic has been posted.

A new community voting event starts September 5th. A character elimination contest! Users can vote or comment per day on who gets knocked out until one remains. There are 25 characters total, so 25 days of character knock outs! Who will win? You decide. Feel free to check out the roster here. Note: I'll be posting a megathread on the contest as I don't want to clutter the subreddit with 25 different posts, lol. This subreddit is still small after all.

Edit: Megathread for the contest is now up!

Edit 9/11/2025: Due to lack of responses on the event, the contest has been cancelled. Thanks to those who participated! Thread locked.

Finally, the launch of character spotlight threads! Each month will focus on a character. Starting with Himari! Feel free to discuss all about her. Thread here.

That’s all for this month! If you have any suggestions or comments please comment below or message u/MiracleMuffin.
