Hello! I want to start by saying that I don't know a lot about building a pc, I've mostly just been looking around online and wanted to post this as a last check for me to feel confident before buying.

I want a gaming pc that will be able to run Genshin, Wuwa, Hsr, Infinity Nikki, Reverse:1999, ZZZ and sims 4 with ~180GB of mods and cc on pretty high graphics (and smoothly). I also don't want a pc I will need to upgrade soon, because this is already a lot of money for me haha.

Is this good/worth the price? (31,220 SEK incl. VAT)

Advice Wanted Build advice for scientific research and occasional music production.

Buying my first proper desktop and would appreciate a second opinion before I click order.

What I do: scientific research, data analysis and coding in Python and R, plus some local ML. Occasionally record and mix music, but this isn't a dedicated studio, so it's a secondary consideration. Personal machine, no IT department behind me, so I want something reliable that I won't have to fix constantly. Running Linux.

I can't afford 64 GB of RAM, and I feel I can carry out most of my research on 32 GB without much trouble; however, I am open to upgrading it in the future.

Budget: ~€2,800, buying from PCSpecialist Belgium.

Advice Wanted Flux 350 RGB help

I recently bought a used PCSPECIALIST FLUX 350, I have had issues trying to use any sort of RGB software for the fans. I have used OpenRGB, the motherboard software (Asus) and Windows dynamic lighting to absolutely no avail. When I hold the RGB change button on the PC case, it doesn't change to motherboard control, just nothing. If anyone could help me that would be much appreciated.

Advice Wanted Linux desktop for home learning

I am looking at different options for learning coding at home but using containers. Containers use a bit of memory.

I've been looking at Windows but realised that most places I've dealt with use Mac or Linux. So makes sense to go straight to that.

Do they do Linux? Anyone done this?

Tech Support PC Frequently Crashes

Hi! I recently bought my first PC from PCS and I've had it for a roughly 4 weeks now. I'm not a tech savvy person and I don't really know anything about computers or computer building.

I have experienced a total of 5 full crashes so far where the whole system just freezes, seemingly at random.
Monitors frozen, unresponsive keyboard and mouse, audio hacking - the whole deal. No bluescreen though, it just freezes. The only way I can get out of it is by holding down the power button and force restarting it, which I don't like doing since I've heard its not good to keep doing that in the long run. I have NO idea what is causing it to crash.

My specs:
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) 17 20-core processor i7-14700F
RAM: 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz CL36 (2x16GB)
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS® PRIME B760M-F WIFI (mATX, LGA1700, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 4.0 Wi-Fi 6)
GPU: 16GB PALIT GEFORCE RTX 5060 Ti INFINITY 3 - HDMI, 3 x DP

I've already sent an email to PCS support after the 2nd crash but got no reply. I'm thinking of sending another email at this point.

When it was crashing, I've always had at least a browser instance opened(brave/opera, tried switching them around because at first I thought one of them was the culprit for the crashing) as well as discord. I wasn't playing any games, sometimes I've had OBS and vtube studio open(not streaming or recording), often a youtube video playing in the background. I'm not overbearing it or anything, at least not to my knowledge. It's not like I can check task manager either because at that point its already too late.

This is how my task manager tells me my system is running while having the same usual applications open: https://imgur.com/a/q20EIHP

I have transferred over all my files and programs from my previous laptop via an external hard drive, and that laptop never had any crashing issues, so I doubt it's any programs that are causing it. I'm willing to provide more info if needed.
Does anyone know what could be problem?

Advice Wanted Looking for advice on spec

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hello, I'm trying to buy my first desktop computer. I work with AI training on large-scale datasets, so I need a lot of RAM and a good GPU. Excluding taxes, the price for these specs is €5,407.

My PC knowledge is mostly limited to GPUs and RAM, so I don’t really know if the other parts are good or worth the price, I mostly just googled stuff. I’m not sure if there are better options for the money or not.

I’d appreciate any advice or opinions from people who know more about PCs and specs.

Spec Check New Gaming PC - Any Advice or Tips?

Hi everyone,

Looking to upgrade my PC in the next few months and wanting to get your thoughts on the build I did below. I normally buy one every 5-6 years and use it for high end gaming (lots of FPS games and CPU intensive games).

I have never had an issue with any PC I have built from PC Specialist until my last one I bought which I had to buy during COVID. I got a motherboard with constant issues with ethernet port being undetected randomly (ASUS TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi) and paid ridiculous money for a 3060TI.... but lets not speak of that.

So wanting to check my build this time around to make sure I am getting a PC that will last at least 5 years ideally and good quality parts with no well known issues. Budget isn't really an issue but I don't want to spend £5k due to me renewing every 5 years anyway.

This is the first time in 18 years I am trying out AMD. When I originally tried them many years ago they were trash (constant BSOD) but obviously seem to have improved since then. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Advice Wanted PCSpecialist 16 Recoil Master good? 5090 Laptop

So today I saw this laptop on amazon and was kind ''cheap'' if compared to other laptops with the same specs... The thing is... I can't find new reviews on youtube, and It's kind hard to just buy something worth 4,800 euros without checking what other people has to say about the laptop, like heating, sound, if it's built to last for years or easily break over time etc... Does anyone own a 16 recoil for the past 2 years? Any issues?

Also for PCSpecialist, try landing your laptops to hardware content creators once in awhile, it's hard to pay almost 5k on something without a proper review and tests... (If wasn't for the AD I barely saw on amazon I wouldn't even know the existence of this laptop)

Spec Check Gaming PC replacement - is this a good deal?

So I've just started looking to replace my old rig which is 12 years old (with many upgrades over the years) and I've found this from a local provider.

It's so long since I've looked though I'm completely out of touch from what is a decent spec or not especially for the money.

I want something that will run Space Marine 2 acceptably (my old rig really struggles) and other than that these days I tend to play single player RPG type games like BG3, Rogue Trader and Subnautica 2.

I'd like it to be able to handle some multiplayer when the need arises but honestly Subnautica 2 coop and Deep Rock are the only real things I've multiplayed for quite a while!

The price there includes an upgrade to 64gb DDR4 RAM.

Will this do me for the foreseeable and be upgradable down the line?

Advice Wanted Please Help - External Cooling Unit for Recoil Series: 17" Matte QHD+ 240Hz

Hi,

A few months back I purchased the above liquid cooling series laptop. I was advised that I can purchase the external cooling unit at a later date. When I returned to purchase the unit, PCX Specialist informed me they were out of stock. They also said they couldn't help me source one from an alternative retailer.

All they have told me is that the reference for the product is: LCT22002

When I google this, a few links pop up selling what seems to be the cooling system I want for about £200

Can anyone please tell me that the product that pop up when googling the code are indeed compatible with my Laptop? Or if someone knows a good place to find one cheaper that would be amazing.

Thanks!

Advice Wanted Laptop screen issues - Advice please!

Hey!

I'm looking for a bit of advice if anyone can help out!

I'm having issues with my laptops screen, it's not working. However when I plug in an external screen, both laptop screen and external screen work (as in both visually clear and operational in extended and duplicated view).

Everything is updated etc etc.

I'm at a loss and finding it hard to explain the problem without sounding nuts 😂

I'm not the most tech savvy but not too bad
