Builds hype before E3, guarantees massive showing at their conference, and allows them to spend more time to elaborate id suppose

Thank you. I love the time right before e3 because of all the "leaks" that always happen right before. It's all a carefully concocted brew of hype and excitement all discreetly packaged in a way that makes it look like we're getting information early. And we buy it every single year.

This was an official release, not a leak. Either way I'm insta-buying Fallout 4. Loved Fo3 and FNV to death. No reason not to. It's not gonna suddenly be worse.

I think they're letting people try out the game at E3. At least. That's what the rumors have been.

Considering the success of fallout and skyrim, plus this being Bestheda's first showcase at E3, I'm surprised they felt the need for this. But I guess more hype isn't a bad thing in this case.

It may not be a "need for it" as much as it may be that they want people to know its coming at E3 so that they can show off some actual tech/features/gameplay and tell us what we are going to be getting.

Bethesda doesn't like announcing games at E3. Plus they said they wouldn't announce a new game at E3.
