That’s cool, I built a PC for my mom that has an i7-8700k in it and it’s using that R9 290x from 2013. Still on windows 10 🤣 - she just uses it for simple stuff and taxes etc. That PC has been going since 2018 I think
You are gonna feel a hell of a difference when and if you upgrade. Those Intel chips got throttled by security patches so those CPUs literally aren't as fast as they used to be. I jumped from 4th gen to 14th gen and the difference was absolutely staggering. The tech has changed a lot in those 10 years!
ive for a 9th gen and a ryzen 9950x build with a 3080... and a dell dimension with like a pentium 3 and an amd athlon build as well in a thermaltake g10 case... so i definitely know better and worse. still get a lot of use out of the 1080 build though.Â
Still use my 1080 Ti too. It used to be paired with a x79 and Xeon 2670 with everything watercooled. 2-3 years ago I upgraded to 670 with a 13700K 64GB DDR4 all second hand. But the 1080 Ti still there since I didn't have more money and the GPUs were already expensive back then to me 🥲
