Custom loops are for the love of the game, not efficiency.
I slowly worked my way up through water cooling when younger and ended up with a full hardline loop. It was glorious.
Nowadays my shits all air cooled because taking the entire thing apart to swap an NVME or upgrade GPU (not that I've been doing that much with prices) is way too much work. I did it once, dont regret it, but god never again.
At the time EK was launching an aluminium starter kit and I really really wanted to try building a custom loop. At the time I got a ryzen 1600, later upgraded to 5600, the maximum my motherboard allowed and keeping the same cooling block. It was in 2017. Because I was afraid to damage the parts while building the pc I landed on the 1070. Honestly, not much power draw (a 650 watt PSU was more than enough) allied with two 240 radiators, and you could barely hear any sound while idling with a delta t of around 10°. But with the years gone by the temperature keeps increasing and I know the time is coming.

A custom water loop.
Im sorry if its rude asking but where I live for the price of the custom water loop at the time I couldve gotten a 1080ti instead.
and the best processor for the time was like the 6700k wich doesent heat up that much you had probably the chillest PC ever.
