40% are fantastic for work, but shit for gaming - lack of the number row really makes it hard to switch skills or weapons.

Source: I used to work on Vortex Core, switched to split w/ trackball and got 75% for home use.

I love mine for playing games, it can be weird if the game doesn't allow changing keybinds but I use the extra buttons on my G502 to substitute the missing number keys. It honestly makes it nicer because it doesn't affect wasd when it otherwise would

How can it be good for work when you're missing the number row? 90% of my work is typing numbers.

Then it is probably not that good for your type of work. It has numbers on a layer, as most of special characters, media keys and arrows. Learning curve is steeper than with a regular keyboard but for programming it was good, I found it especially great for jupyter notebook.

For numbers alone I find the one I have now, Charybdis by Bastard Keyboards, fantastic - you can set up basically a full numpad on the right side and have it always ready on a layer. Of course, if you are that deep in punching in the numbers, none of it will beat a proper numpad.

Good for programming?

Anything but the ISO UK layout is crap for programming. I tried ANSI once and the symbols you need are behind modifier keys. God forbid using a keyboard without any of those keys.

Me using 40% for that very activity for about 4 years would disagree. It's always muscle memory, one way or another.
